Great class 3-4 rapids in a beautiful setting. Wouldn't take kids younger than 10, as the current is strong and the water quite cold.

Zolander rafting. Exciting, fun and safety oriented. I was afraid to try rafting, but they made me feel secure. Our guide was so knowledgable about the river and the changing conditions over the last 20 years. I had a great time and will go rafting again.

The White Salmon River rafting is fantastic. Go early when flows are large and the water is cold. I mean COLD (38F). There are some slack courses, but overall it's a great run. The 9' drop over the fall is absolutely worth the trip. The meal the rafting company provided, was super (for the side of a river). Pictures were great. Kids and adults loved the trip. It's an old collapsed lava tube, which makes it a little cool.

The White Salmon River is one of just a few nationally designated wild & scenicrivers, in Washington State . Most people come for the river rafting. There areseveral guide services available, book ahead for prime summer weekends !

Beautiful and quiet. There weren't many people around and the grandkids loved it. It felt really safe. Bathrooms were outhouses....you have to have some pain with all that beauty. Roads are well maintained.

Washington side of the Columbia River. Glorious day beautiful river and remarkable evidence of a huge ancient lava bed, stretching as far north as Goose Lake .

White Water Rafting on the White Salmon River in Wash. is a must do! After reading reviews on Trip Advisor, I selected Wet Planet. So glad I did. We had a wonderful rafting trip, felt very safe(instructions before, we even got off & walked around a dangerous waterfall w/a sharp log sticking up in the middle) Professional from the time I booked on line, then called to change day. I asked the best time of day to raft & was told morning. Afternoon is fine, but colder b/c the sun goes behind the hills. They had All of the gear needed to stay warm & safe all inclusive of the price. Loved the whole experience! Next time we would go later in the summer b/c you put in 2 miles farther up the river. It looks like the waterfalls are maybe more extreme, but that would be okay too.

Went rafting with River Drifters in Husum. I have been rafting a number of times before but this was the best location for the combination of good scenery, nice weather (in the summer warm weather and cold water), and quality rafting. It has a good number of different good rapids with many challenging 3 - 4 rapids but nothing too intense. The Husum Falls was an awesome experience and was definitely worth it. The falls are only open when the water flow is low enough which is near mid summer. The rest of the year the rafts have to pull out before the falls and go back in downstream.

We rafted with Wet Planet and had a GREAT time!We took the 1/2 day trip over the Memorial Day weekend (Thanks to all of our Men and Women in the Armed Forces...).Wet Planet took care of everything: All we had to do was show up and get ready for an adventure of a lifetime!I've lived in the Pacific Northwest too long to not have done this. This is NOT a passive ride. You MUST be willing to get wet, listen to your guide's instructions, and give it your all.

Great fun with white water on the White Salmon river. Class 3-4.. up to 6 (depending if they're running the water fall). Just need swim suits and personal items. The companies provide the wet suits. Beautiful basalt carved route. 1 hr 15 min from Portland which is not common to have such great rafting so near a great city. I've used Wet Planet and River Drifters, (although the former the most). Hint: take the splash guards they offer over the wet suit when the water is 40 degrees.

Now that Condit dam has been removed the river is free flowing and is simply amazing how its changed for the better. White water rafting is excellent and the fly fishing will be amazing once the fish return.

Met up with some friends for a great rafting trip down the White Salmon. We went with Wet Planet and they were awesome. They gave us everything we needed and drove us up to the river. All you really need to bring is a bathing suit. I particularity enjoyed passing the public launch site that was bustling with other companies and continuing up the road 2 miles to a private launch site. Our main guide talked to us under the shade of the forest along the river (which was well appreciated on a 90 degree day) about safety and what to do in case you fell in. After the group split up into our individual rafts the excitement began. We were well trained in a calm pool before we went into the first rapid: "Triple Drop" our first class IV rapid. That was followed by more fun rapids that I sadly don't remember the names to, but do remember how awesome they were. We got out and walked around a big waterfall and then jumped off a cliff back into the river, it was super fun! After about an hour of fun, we passed the launch site that we passed on the road where other companies were putting in (I wonder if they knew what they missed)! The rest of the trip was super fun, and I highly recommend the last falls (some folks walked around) where you drop over the edge of the falls to end up totally submerged! It's crazy and totally a blast! We got done with our trip around lunch time and headed to town for good food and beer. What a great visit! I highly recommend rafting the White Salmon (particularly Wet Planet) and visiting the Columbia Gorge what a great time!

I am a life long Resident of the Columbia Gorge and for the White Salmon River to have an Oregon address is wrong. It is in Washington State near the town of White Salmon ACROSS the Columbia river from Hood River Oregon. Please Correct your information
