Well worth stopping to explore the area. The view and wave action is beautiful especially at high tide. Check out the trails too.

Must stop and hike the short distances to Devils Churn, Cooks Chasma and the Spouting Horn. Stop at visitors center and more hikes to second tallest tree in OR, and several other beautiful stops

lovely spot to stop. Perfect for the physically fit who like to climb or those with mobility problems. great way to see how wind and water carve a beautiful landscape.

This is one of my top 5 favorite places in the Western U.S. to go hiking. From the visitors center at the base of the Cape, you can hike down to Devil's Churn, a spectacular basaltic chasm with awe-inspiring surf pounding within it. If you're not afraid of heights, you can hike around the lip of the churn to the northern side, where tidepools full of purple urchins & other wonders await you. I have seen harbor porpoises & grey whales up close along the shoreline. Inland, you will find miles of beautiful forest trails. My personal favorite is the Gwynn Creek Trail, including ocean views, old growth spruce, & pretty little cascades on many hillsides. On the north side of the Cape, a hiking trail leads from the nearby town of Yachats to the Amanda grotto, where a small statue commemorates Amanda, a Coos tribal woman, who endured the march from her homeland to the reservation that used to exist in the Yachats area. From the grotto, the trail continues up to the top of the Cape. On a clear day, you can take in a stunning view, north toward Yachats & south toward Heceta Head. If you're not up for hiking that much elevation gain, you can also drive to the viewpoint.

Bring your camera- this is a very scenic area along the Oregon coast! High tide is probably best to see the Spouting Horn and Devil's Churn in action, but it's still amazing any time of day! There are some short hiking trails and benches along the way to just sit and soak it all in---so beautiful!!

I have stopped many times the views are great ,and are best during time of high surf. There are numerous hiking trails in the area.

Don't miss Cape Perpetua on the Oregon Coast. It is one of the most scenic sections of the entire Oregon coast! Spouting Horn, Thor's Well, Devil's Churn are all scenic wonders!

This is a great place to get out of the car and see some great views! The trails to the south are very stroller friendly! The interpretive center has great information for kids. You can take the trail from here or park down by the road and it's stroller accessible! If you go on a stormy day it's amazing to see the spouts blow! Be very careful if you go off the trail and onto the tide pool. Sneaker waves are a reality and you don't want to get caught in one. We stayed on the trail!

My wife and I flew across the country to get married in the rock hut because of its beauty. Enough said.

I live here and as many times as I go I always see something new, an avid amateur photographer, this area is spectacular, the dramatic coadylife , broad sand beaches and wildlife create some of the bes photos, and the weather is always changing, from Strom's to brilliant sunshine, it makes you feel small , plenty of local places to stay and have a fun and amazing time.

There is excellent hiking, ocean views, small pocket beaches and incredible nature everywhere you look. Great for a short stop while driving 101 or you can spend days on the many trails and beaches. Truly a world class ocean and forest experience.

Cape Perpetua is breathtakingly gorgeous---Spouting Horn, Devil's Chasm, Thor's Well, hiking, walking....it's just a perfect place to be!

Wonderful hikes to do here. You can see a 500 year old sitka spruce, it's a short walk down to the spouting horn and Thor's well, and the lookout from the tower at the top of the hill is the best view on the Oregon coast. Also, the staff in the visitor center are very helpful.

This was a great stop between Florence and Yachats. The whole Cape Perpetua Scenic Area is beautiful. There are several walking paths leading down Captain Cook Trail toward tide pools and some spectacular sights--like Spouting Horn. If you're lucky enough to catch this spot during high waves or high tide the cavern hidden under the rocks in Cook's Chasm gather the incoming water which then explodes as a geyser through a hole at the top. Very special. You feel the power of the Pacific here. A beautiful spot and the tide pools are lovely.There are many stairs so it's an easy walk for those able to scramble. And it's a place to watch children carefully. The waves can be unpredictable so signs caution about being careful in the shallows.

It was my first time laying eyes on the Pacific coast of the U.S. and it was absolutely breathtaking. I went at low tide so I couldn't see the churning waters nor Thor's Well but despite that it was arresting. The visitor's center is easy to find and very helpful. Access to points of interest are simple and there is no need for hiking gear. Even if you are unable to make the short trek down to the shore, the views from the highway are simply spectacular.
