This is a must see aquarium for kids and adults. I always take out of state visitors so they can get a good feel of the Oregon Coast.
I didn't get to visit all the parts to this Aquarium because it was raining. The aquarium has several parts to it both inside and out. Clean, neat, and very pretty setting.
We had a family gathering at the aquarium to celebrate our Grandma's 96th birthday. She had never been and that was her one birthday wish. We went in August 2014 and various family came from Portland, Eugene, Corvallis, Springfield and Vancouver, WA to join her at the aquarium. Reasonably priced, accommodates wheel chairs and baby strollers and all the sea creatures were so wonderful to see. Our favorite was the behind the scenes tour and sea lion kiss. It is well worth the extra money and something my Grandma will never forget. A wonderful family adventure at the Oregon Coast Aquarium!
We love going through the Aquarium. The marine life seems to always change and the Aquarium is forever changing and adding new things.
Love the passages of the deep and the jellyfish! Also the aviary section is very cool. I've never seen those birds so close! One was about two feet from me it was amazing. My kids loved the octopus, and still talk about it often. Definitely worth a trip!
Focused on the ocean close in and off shore along the Oregon coast. FABULOUS AVIARY! GREAT TIDE POOL DISPLAY. Loved the otters and walk through underwater tunnels too of course. Our trip along the Oregon coast was so enriched because we could imagine what was beneath the waves after visiting the Aquarium. We were also reminded of our time in the Queen Charlotte Islands.
We love learning and the staff are all so knowledgable if they can't answer a question they find somebody that can. The food in the cafe is delicious. We had the fish tacos, Alaskan cod and chips and cod sandwich. We also had espresso it was a great day filled with treats and beautiful creatures.
the way they have set this up could not have been any better.Easy walking through out the entire aquarium. the displays were amazing, It you are in the area it is a must see,
It is small but very lovely! The details they have put in tithe walking paths and the housing of the exhibits are well done. The passage of the deep exhibit was great I could have spent hours just there watching everything swim by highly recommend visiting
What always makes this trip special is seeing the reaction on children's faces when they see the exhibits for the first time. Although the aquarium is not overly huge, you feel as though you are in a large area. It is well mapped out and so many fun things to do. I think I have more fun in the tide pool exhibit than the children do. The staff and volunteers are exceptional and very knowledgable. When in Newport the aquarium is a must visit.
We visited the aquarium on 2/19/15. Weather was warm and sunny so a great day to wonder around and see what's going on. We love the aquarium and are looking forward to the new display this summer. They are building the "shipwreck" now. We were a little disappointed that a large part of the indoor exhibits were not available for viewing since they are working on the new display for summer. So if you plan on spending a lot of time inside on a rainy day, you might be disappointed.
We went there Sunday 2/15 it was not overly busy but the staff are very knowledgeable and we had a great time.
Loved the tunnel surrounded by water. Lots of fish to see and sharks. The jellyfish were incredible. The seals and otters were fun too. My grandkids loved it.
One of the best aquariums ever. Really enjoyed it. Loved the tide pool and the tunnel. What a treasure to find so close to home.
My wife and I went to the aquarium while visiting Newport. It as an amazing place. Loved the sea otters.
