My children, grand children, and I have really enjoyed the Enchanted Forest over the years. The nursery rhyme theme with walk-through stops along a wooded trail helps kids visualize the stories, and helps adults remember the rhymes. I like the water fountain show that's coordinated to music. It's a nice place to sit indoors on a warm day. There are picnic tables in shady areas where you can eat purchased food or bring your own. Great place for birthday parties for 4-10 year olds.
The nursery rhyme theme is great since it gets the little ones involved. The rides and western town are great for when they get older.
When I really want to feel like a kid again, I go to Enchanted Forest! I love the nostalgic way this story-book themed park comes to life in the summer time. It is just enough without being too much for little kids to handle. Love the log ride, the ice-mountain bob-sled and Mondor's Revenge! I wish they would add more roller coasters and try to figure out a way to reduce the wait in line for the big rides.
Salem is pretty boring for most of us adults, but the Enchanted Forest in the Oregon woods is a real gem. Our granddaughter who lives in LA loves it when she visits, and her mom who grew up here loved it when a child. The water chute ride is great, and lots of cute walk through activities for kids. The plays in the outdoor amphitheater are really entertaining and well done; they are traditional fairy tales with up to date humorous additions and twists. Entertaining even for the adults with the children.
Anyone who loves letting the inner child out a bit will LOVE this place. It's always a hit with every kid and adult I've ever visited with. They're closed in winter, so I obviously didn't just visit, but I've been multiple times, and it just does NOT get old! It's true, the park being on hill might be a cause for hesitation for some, but there are several benches all through the park, and the path goes along the hill rather than straight up, so they did do a good job planning the paths, and the top/bottom of the park does level out more. LOCAL INSIDER TIP: the Enchanted Forest has special events for holidays, and sometimes fun concerts or special guests at the comedy theater! Check the schedule on the site! Also, the water & light show is beautiful :) it's not giant like Disneyland, but that's part of the appeal. Far less straining to see, and far less stress in the WHOLE DAY than disneyland.
This isn't Disneyland but a great place for the kids and grandkids. Everything hand made. Theamed around nursery rhymes this park is a blast. Well worth the time and the money. Can't wait to go back in the summer.
Finally made it to the Enchanted Forest.... and ending up running into my aunt and uncle and some of their grandkids at the park. There are several fun areas of the park to explore....Storybook Lane, a western town, an English Village... and some great rides... including the haunted house, log ride, bumper cars and more. There are some really cool animatronics in the park, and the Fantasy Fountains are definitely worth checking out. I felt like a kid again and had a great time. There is a food cart with great views and definitely fun here for the whole family. Young children may not want to enter the haunted house.
i've been going to this theme park since I was a little kid and now I enjoy taking my children there as well. The ticket prices have gotten ridiculously expensive, and I'm not sure it's really worth it, but still we go because of the nostalgic value and how very fun it is there.
Growing up in Salem we used to go to Enchanted forest every few years. It was always fun as a kid however there are some super creepy things there as well. The rabbit hole is very dark and pretty long, the witches slide is fun yet looks scary enough to terrorize a four year olds dreams forever, don't even think about going into the Haunted house if you're small or faint of heart! The plays that they put on there are stupendous!!! Interactive and very funny. The park is aging and needs major upkeep. Poor Humpty Dumpty actually FELL this year. Bring a sweater or jacket as much of the park is heavily shaded. It definitely is worth checking out.
I went with my brother's family and a bunch of our cousins. It had been about 15 years since my last visit so I did not remember the park being on a steep hill. I am a cane user with a bad foot, hip and knee. If I would have known how hard it would be for me to get around I would have stayed home. With that said the place is fun. It is worth a visit.
I've been going to the Enchanted Forest since about 1981, when my youngest was still in diapers. I've been taking my grandchildren there every summer since they've been old enough to go...the youngest are now 8 and 11 and they still love it, love it, love it. I think our favorite thing in the whole park is the original play put on by the staff. Its always funny, entertaining the little ones as well as the adults, with the zingy one liners and silly songs. The Forest is a great place to be in the Willamette Valley on a hot summer day!! And you can take in your own food and drink and sit at the picnic tables in the shade. Its not cheap, tho, so be prepared to spend the day and get your money's worth. Its clean and safe and you'll laugh and take plenty pictures and videos. Its also locally owned and operated, another plus.
Storybook Lane is great. I remember walking through as a kid, and now I had a chance to take my kids. They loved the houses and statues for each Fairy Tale. They made us walk through twice. Haunted House is not for young kids. My two boys were scared and crying soon after entering. The rides are not cheap. A great place to visit if you have kids under 13.
I really like coming here, the woods through the park are beautiful and add to the story book feel of the place. The cottages and play areas are really neat and the kids always love it. The hard winter weather takes a toll, could use new paint and replace the carpet in the walk through areas as they smell musty and are getting a pretty well worn. The water show is pretty neat place to sit and have a snack and wait for the next show. It is worth waiting for.Very fun place.
Very fun for the whole family even adults! The rides are a blast and employees are great! They have shows also.
This Salem mainstay is always a great place to go. It's affordable, kids love it, parents can be sure their kids are having a great time. This place isn't so big that it seems crazy. There's affordable food and a really nice gift shop. It's ore than worth the stop.
