The raptor center is in a beautiful setting. First step is to check in at the Visitor Center and pay a modest fee. The volunteer gave us a map and told us about the Center and welcomed us. As we stood in front of one of the enclosures she came outside to us and pointed out where the bird was sitting and told us about its background. As we wandered around we saw various volunteers in action. One was holding a very large owl and talking to guests about the owl. Her enthusiasm and knowledge were apparent as she shared this incredible bird. Seeing the raptors up close was awesome! The ones on display had all been injured and wouldn't survive in the wild. The paths were a bit steep in places and uneven but could be managed without difficulty. The restroom facilities were portable latrines. I have been to the Raptor Center in the past and look forward to visiting again.

This was such a great experience to be so up close and just a few feet away from the most beautiful birds in the world! Bald eagles, raptors, owls...it is incredible. They do such a fantastic job in rescuing, rehabilitating and caring for these incredible creatures, GO and support them. They admission "fee" is a contribution...but so worth what they do.

What they do there is amazing. The wide array of bird residents was incredible. Ive never seen so many, especially not so close up.

The Cascades Raptor Center takes in raptor birds that have been injured. It treats and releases a majority of its birds. The birds that cannot be released--for example if they have a broken wing that cannot be healed to permit flight--they become permanent residents of the Center. At the Center, one can see eagles, hawks, owls, vultures, etc. of many varieties. It is an inspiring place, situated in the hills just south of Eugene, on Fox Hollow Road.

Many of the birds don't mind being at the front of the cages where you can stand about 12 inches away from these beautiful creatures. And despite us choosing a super cold day to visit, all four staff were eager to stop what they were doing in order to engage us with information and stories.Friendly birds. Friendly people. What's not to love!!

The center held the attention of adults and children 3 yr. old through 14 yrs. old. Find out the times of special presentations and do not miss any. From and American Bald Eagle to a small owl the center has them all. Besides entertaining the center main focus is to safe the lives of injured raptors. We were so taken by the efforts we sponsored a bird.

12 year old grandson visited with his aunt...hard to keep him interested. We decided to go to the Raptor center. Great choice...spent 90 minutes viewing all the birds and reading the information signs along the paths. He was really interested, especially the birds of prey....several large hawks and many owls. His aunt, a school teacher would have stayed all day, and took home several books from the gift shop. Its outdoors, so, pick a clear day or dress for the weather, but its definitely worth going. As an adult, I've been there 3 times in 4 years and learns something every time.

This is a noble place to see and be. Yes, I didn't enough about the access and food, but I noticed one of the greatest sanctuaries for birds that I've ever seen. Please visit this amazing and wonderful place where they are consumed with helping the beauty of our birds. Yup, even Eagles, Hawks and little ones.

We stopped here for a brief few hours to break up our drive from the Crater Lake area to Portland. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our first visit to Oregon and we would highly recommend visiting the center if you are near the area or have an interest in birds of prey. We were lucky enough to be there to listen and learn from a trainer's talk during which she discussed raptor characteristics and demonstrated some of their capabilities along with her "co-worker" a resident peregrine. She both informed and entertained and answered audience member questions. We enjoyed strolling through the wooded area and seeing the many raptors and learning their case histories.

This place is worth an hour or two if you are in the area. As it is currently structured, you visit at your convenience and go on a self-guided tour. There are good signs about the bird species, as well as the individual birds and how they came to be at the center. Seeing the volunteers interact with the birds was a highlight.

Be sure to get there in time to see and hear the demonstration and information session. We learned so much. The center is wonderfully arranged and beautifully maintained. There's always a volunteer or employee around to answer any questions. A great place to visit.

Very nicely done exhibit and the stories of the birds arrival very interesting to read. They talk they gave was very informative and yes the owl flew away on us too, just like someone else reported. They brought someone else in to keep talking while the other girl got the owl out of the tree. Worth the visit and the drive there was nice.

Went later in the afternoon and they were feeding several birds their mice. Got to get up close to a turkey vulture, red tailed hawk and a peregrine falcon. Fascinating!

They had a good collection of Raptor on display. The educational talk was very informative even if the Owl flew away for a few minutes. They do a very good job of describing the bird and telling you a story of why each of the birds is in the facility. The admission cost was reasonable for what they presented. It is a place we would visit again if we are in the area.
