We stopped by on a Thursday afternoon. The bartender was kind and quite knowledgeable about the area. Bar was slow as expected on a Thursday afternoon, but we had tons of stuff to look at and talk about. Good Bucket of Blood amber beer. We left with souvenirs and were quite content with our visit. We Would come again. Great view out the back window.

I asked the bartender how the place got its name and she said because it was so rowdy with tons of fights back on the old days. Today it is fun place to hang out. they have good drinks and tons of memorabelia. they also have a gift shop (kinda) you have to ask the bartender and you can purchase t shirts, shot glasses and other souveniers. Great place

We visited Virginia City in January . . . many places and activities were closed but not most of the eating places. This saloon was recommended to us but with a name like Bucket of Blood, how could you pass up a place like this? The young man behind the bar was a lot of fun and their namesake beer was very good. The free popcorn made a nice snack as we were walking the wooden sidewalks. This place is full of history. We would return to Virginia City and this saloon, in warmer months (with more things to do).

My husband and I went with my sister in law and husband. We had a couple of drinks. The place was packed. There was a band playing and the dance floor was full. There were about eight different people dressed in period pieces it was so neat.

This saloon is a hidden gem located on the main street through town. It has an scenic 100 mile view of the mountains. The best drink in the house are the Bloody Marys which they served in sturdy Red Solo cups. The locals flock here on Sunday afternoon to watch local bands such as the Comstock Cowboys. We listened to a western band called The Lady and the Tramps. The locals tend to dress up in the garb of the boomtown days. We ran into members of the "vigilante committee"! Had a great time and will definitely return. For gaming folks, there are video machines. They do not serve food, but you can order from a restaurant across the street and it will be brought to you.

Love to hang around Virginia City. Been here many times since the late 90s but its always a must when we're in Tahoe. Just yesterday, for the first time though, we say David John and the comstock cowboys play and what a treat! Very good players and very good music. Beer and free popcorn to go along (no, beer not free). Yeeha!

We had family from Italy visiting and wanted to show them a western town. They loved the buildings and the walking through history. A great experience to see Virginia City with family of all ahes.

Often seen in 'The Bonanza' and scene of man a brawl involving the Cartwright brothers! The Bucket of Blood is a genuine old salloon bar from the mining days. Outside is a big white funeral carriage complete with coffin.Don't expect any retro fittings - this is a wild west saloon bar.

This place is full of "gun toting" cowboys and a great place to stop for a cold beverage. We happened to visit when they had a band playing. At 3:00PM on a Saturday afternoon it was packed. People were friendly and service was quick. A walk to the bar produced a quick response. Much different than other places that seem to treat you like you are invisible as you stand at the bar. A real plus to this place is it is non smoking and they provide free popcorn. There are a lot of saloons in Virginia City. We went in several before deciding this place seemed like an authentic step back in time. We will go back and bring other friends.

We enjoyed having some beers at the historic Bucket of Blood Saloon. It is fun times and makes one feel part of the once upon a time "silver boom" times. It was constructed in 1876.

A fun, historical tavern that has one of the finest views in the valley. The Bloody Mary's are wonderful and the people watching, the best. Corey our bartender and Steve the owner are wonderful people. A must stop when you're in Virginia City, NV!

An antique bar, complete with Victorian Pickle Castors from the old times, a piano player dressed in period, even if not all she plays is Victorian, generous drinks and free popcorn, that does it for me! Add the variety of black and white photographs on the walls and the friendly barman and you have the picture of a truly good time! Don't forget to buy a CD with old piano recording from authentic old pianos in bars throughout the Nevada Territory

Virginia City is great first of all. A real Western town with so much history. We've been coming here for many years and the one stop that we always enjoy is the Bucket of Blood Saloon. The place is always rock'in with live music, drinks, friendly staff and locals who are totally into the western theme with western gear and side arms. The whole town is out to welcome guests on the weekends! The Saloon is on the side of a mountain overlooking the gold and silver mining fields that stretch out over a large valley. Thousands once lived below the town in tent cities to make their fortunes in the west. Most of the town is still there and all of it can be seen from the Bucket of Blood Saloon. There are staged gun fights and candy stores for the kids. Next time I am going to pan for gold. Thumbs up for a weekend visit.

Whenever I go back home to visit my family in Carson City, we go to Virginia City. I ALWAYS stop at the Bucket of Blood to buy a T-Shirt and have a few beers. This place never gets old!

Not a bad way to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon, if you like country music that is. They don't push the drinks, there's no cover, and no-one plays the slots. Most enjoyable! A couple from the audience played and sang with the band too. Comstock Cowboys were excellent, played some golden oldies. The drummer did an excellent solo.
