John Neihardt was an amazing author and poet, yet his work seems unknown. His book, Black Elk Speaks, is amazing. This site pays homage to this talented and insightful man. He is Nebraska's Poet Laureate In Perpetuity.

It's not too far off the beaten path if you're headed north and if you like Native American history then you should not miss this visit to the author of 'Black Elk Speaks.' Quite the accomplished author and an interesting person, Neihardt's legacy lives on at this site. The Peace Garden outside is recreated in the visitor center with an abundance of museum-quality relics and artifacts. All of his books are available for sale.
