We wanted something to do in the evening and started perusing the local Arts newspaper. There was an ad for a play at the Community Theatre for that evening (Wednesday) and the rest of the week. We picked to go that evening.Tickets are a bit high for a community theatre. However, the price was worth it. The play was "Jesus Christ, Super Star." It was one of the best performances of this play that I have ever seen. The director had changed the set-up a bit more. It took place in modern times, everyday clothing, and scenery was stark and barren. It took place within a homeless camp and the business world. The two leads had excellent voices and a superb back-up actors.I believe that this play is similar to all of their performances. So, if you are in Omaha and looking for something to do. Check out the Omaha Community Theatre and enjoy the evening!

We went to see "A Christmas Carol". It was familiar yet a bit different in parts from versions I have seen on film. The singing was top notch. We had seats in the far back, due to buying our tickets a few days before we went. Still, we saw and heard everything. We definitely will plan more shows at this venue when we travel to Omaha! After the show, it was nice to visit with the entire cast as they lined the hall leading out. Wonderful!

The Omaha Community Playhouse is first rate. The productions are professional and I highly recommend seeing a production when you have the chance!

Over the past 38 years of residing in Omaha, I have attended a number of productions at the Omaha Community Playhouse, and I am yet to be disappointed by a production. The facility is state of the art, the casting is excellent, the costumes are brilliant, and the presentation is always crowd-pleasing. This is a not-to-be-missed experience in fine (finer than one might expect from a community theater) entertainment!!

As season ticket holders for about 15 years we've seen a number of excellent shows, including local versions of shows we've also seen as touring Broadway productions. The effort put into not only the acting but also the scenery, sound and lighting is exemplary. The higher high production plays are given in the Main Theatre where there is your standard theatre type seating including a balcony. Seats in the main stage area are plush and comfortable although some seats have sponsor plaques on the arm rest that can be annoying during a long show. The smaller Howard Drew theatre has more intimate seating and can be reconfigured for the type of play being put on. Seating is a bit less comfortable but the balcony (where we usually sit) offers a nice, more casual seating plan with some minor obstructions depending on where you sit.As a season ticket holder you really only get some minor preferences. You can purchase the open seating plan (you call and schedule a date convenient to you) or a plan that gives you assigned seating on specific dates. I usually go with the open seating plan since it allows for greater flexibility. One thing I'd wish they'd offer season ticket holders is the opportunity to switch days without paying a penalty. They have good and bad shows. Some have been nearly awful and taken everything I could to stay to the end. I know you can't swing for the fence with every show, so this is to be expected. Most shows are very good. Lately they've been in a musical kick with what seems the majority of shows being some kind of musical. Maybe that's the trend these days. There is usually plenty of parking.

Saw the Drowsy Chaperone a couple of days ago. the cast was outstanding and I preferred the Playhouse's production to that of the original Broadway production.

This was a great show!! Every show I attend at OCP is great, have never been disappointed. The Christmas offerings are especially wonderful, and appeal to the whole family. We go every year if possible.

We went to see the play "Annie' here. It is a wonderful place, very modern and able to accommodate a large audience. You will not be disappointed!

Joined as members for first time. This was our first play and it was thought provoking and well delivered. Can't wait for the rest of the season!

This is an absolutely wonderful venue. There are several performing venues and many many wonderful productions during the year, I have never been to a bad play there.

One of the largest community theaters in the midwest. Very professional, fun, organized, and clean. Volunteers help to make this venue have that midwest welcome.

Actors, scenery, singing, dancing....everything done in the Broadway tradition.....great production....and our seats were in the 5th row center....even better.

Quality is okay, but the space is really strange. Like a long airplane runway. Narrow. And the seats are uncomfortable. Plus I hear that they pay everyone involved but the actors - with a few exceptions. However, offerings are very diverse - especially with the second space. But I wonder what the space might have looked like with a larger, wider stage.

Great local theater where Henry Fonda started acting! Two stages with great shows current and past. Be sure and see the Christmas Carol during December!
