There are so many photo opportunities and hands on experiences at this privately funded zoo. We took in the whole place in just a few hours and had a marvelous time. Highly recommend!
To kill some time while in Lincoln I decided to take my two year old to the children's museum. I am SO GLAD that I did. We spent almost 3 hours exploring the three floors playing and learning so many things. I wish that I lived in the area because this would be a weekly activity I would enjoy to do with my boy.
I visited the museum with my son and his class. It was a very educational yet fun experience. I loved how interactive the museum is. The kids had a blast and didn't want to leave. If you have elementary age children you should definitely check it out
My 5 year old nephew loves to go to the Lincoln Children's Museum, -he can play for 4 hours straight without getting bored. I would say the best age range is from about 3-8 years old, since his older brother also loved it when he was younger, but by the time he got to be about 9 he wasn't so into it.
Our girls love this place and ask to go back quite often. Nice to have something like this when the weather doesn't allow you to go to the zoo or do something outside. Good options to keep kids entertained, even some things with water.
Tons of fun hands on stuff for kids to do on multiple floors. A stage for dress up and acting, places to paint your faces, water activities, educational activities, building projects, and much more.
The Children's Museum is a fun spot in the middle of downtown Lincoln (14th and P Street) that has a little for adults as well. Parking is a slight challenge, but that has to be expected in the heart of a state capital. The exhibits are first-rate, and kids can learn a lot when/if they stop to read about them while playing. One caveat: kids above 6th-7th grade may not find the same enchantment as younger children. But that shouldn't stop you from visiting, or becoming a member (they have ones for grandparents too!).
Kids from 6 months up to 12/ 13 yr olds will love this place. Adults love to play with their kids there. 3 levels, lots of fun. Check it out. Water area is great, traveling exhibit. Stage for acting, and face painting area.
It was just a wonderful time with my baby. He played many roles such as pizza maker, player team, mechanic and so on. We lived in Venezuela and it is first experience in this kind of museum.
This museum gives children a chance to pretend and use their imaginations which is rare these days with video games! When my grandsons come to visit it is the place to go to let them run off some steam and really enjoy being a child! The museum even has a membership that helps with the cost if you are going to visit often!
We are used to great childrens' museums on our travels, but the Lincoln museum was a 10. My 10 y/o daughter had a ton of fun and my husband and i actually loved the Johnny Carson room, where you can be "on tv"! The sports room was a hit also, with NE football apparel galore. Price was a bit high for the 3 hours of entertainment, yet the bottom floor made up for it (3 floors). All the unique props made for an excellent photo op, with rideable police motorcycles, ambulances, and out favorite the airplanes. Kids of all ages will adore this spot.
We came to town for a football game the following day - driving over 2 days from Indiana. When we neared Lincoln, I gave my 6 yr old some choices of Things-to-do. "Children's Museum!" I think he was the perfect age for the exhibits. The price was right, and he a had a good escape from the car - playing in the football room, in the Cessna airplane, and with the water area and tunnels.
this place has everything children love; a pizza place, a store, a vet clinic, a bank, the cab of a fire truck, a tractor, a 3 level tree house with a brdge, a cop motorcycle, a mini farm with garden, a doctors office, big gofer holes to climb through and play, a stage and costumes, arts and crafts activity center, a plane, a space ship. a dune buggy, a big water works play area , family bathrooms, a store to shop for toys, rocks, stuffed animals treats ect..
We came to Nebraska for a football game and needed a diversion for our 6 year old. This was perfect for him. Hours of enjoyment for kids.
This is a very nice, small zoo that is perfect for small children. It is small enough that their little legs don't get too tired, but big enough to see a variety of animals. The kids are allowed to feed the goats, which is nice. Admission is inexpensive. Overall good experience.
