The smoke in the bingo, casino, and hotel areas is very intense and unhealthy, even for smokers! It saturates ones hair and clothing, requiring immediate showering when getting home. Clothes have to be left in the garage to air-out. We left an e-mail and a voice mail for the casino General Manager about this abhorrent environment and if they are planning on correcting it, but no one has responded. This indicates a callous and unprofessional management team that is indiffent to their customers. Shame on them! The rooms are not bad, but the smoke odors are a major problem. The food in all of the venues is mediocre, at best.
The buffet is worth the $7.77! It's clean and the service is great! The Dinner House offers specials that are pretty good! Makes sure to sign up for the email notifications so that you know what's happening.
We stopped here for lunch and were very surprised that it was not your typical smoke filled casino. It was quiet compared to the Las Vegas casinos. We ate in the cafe and had a Mexican dish and a bowl of their home made chile. Very nice. There are many wildlife refuge's in the area to see.
The casino is fine, and the restaurants really have very nice fare. The really nice part is the Hotal. The lobby is really beautiful, as well as the rooms, and very reasonable for the comfort and spaciousness It is a real bargain..
Wanted to play the slots, but couldn't figure out how to use them. Too many buttons and telephone key pad (why?). Slots at Rolling Hills Casino much friendlier.
I can't say I'm thrilled.. the food was disappointing, most the gambling machines were not very clean.. sticking substances and ashes. the ladies room is kept very neat and clean. It seems every time they start another construction project the gambling gets a bit "tighter". The only plus is that it is very close to Colusa. I haven't stayed at the hotel, but was told by a guest it was also disappointing.
We stayed a night at the Colusa Casino but didn't do much gambling. For what we did, we found the casino floor to be exceptionally clean and mostly smoke-free, which is kind of a big deal to us these days. Fun games, too. We sampled the buffet on crab/seafood night, and it was good. Not wonderful, but at least worth the price. It was also very crowded, so the locals must like it. We spent one night in the hotel. It was very clean and comfortable, with -- for some reason -- oversized and ornate bedroom furniture, and a bathroom big enough to throw a bar mitzvah in. NO -- I kid. It did seem larger than its stated purpose. Nevertheless, if you like a bit of casino with your overnight stay, you could do worse than the Colusa Casino and hotel.
Everything was perfect, including the winnings. Well worth the trip off of the Interstate. Been there before.
Joined their Rewards Club, got $80.00 in free play by a lucky spin and $5.00 off of their Buffet! Good start, took away more money than the free play and the Buffet was really good. Bread pudding absolutely yummy!Everyone was so friendly and warm, made me feel like they really appreciate their customers. Amazing how infectious smiles are!Only reason for the 4 rating is because they are not a large fancy Casino, which really is in their favor. Wish the Indian Casinos in Southern California would take lessons from this Casino!
As far a casinos go, it's smallish and reminds me of Feather Falls and Gold Country as far as the variety of machines, games, etc. I hate to say it's out in the middle of nowhere, but it is out in flat agricultural land. We ate the Sunday brunch, played machines for a couple of hours and left. The front of the lodge part of the casino was undergoing a facelift, so it has somewhat of a construction site look to it in the front. If you're in this area, it's worth a stop to check it out. I doubt if I would drive for more than a hour to get to it, though.
Stopped in hoping for a good crab dinner it was not to be but we ate there anyway and were more than satisfied with a great big slice off a whole prime rib. It was cooked to perfection, My search for a crab dinner goes on but for right now I'm very happy, left the casino stuffed. The atmosphere at the Casino was lively, a fun place to enjoy. The poker room (closet might be a better description) left a little to be desired only two tables and no variety of games 3-6 limit only. But service to the room much improved since my last visit.
I recently started visiting the area and Casino and I like it! So far it has been FUN :) I really enjoy going to Wintun Dinnerhouse, and I love their Thursday specials!! I have stayed at the River Valley Lodge a couple times and that was GREAT experience! Recently I came to the Taste of Home cooking show, and WOW, that something new for me! I was happy to be there and enjoyed it, plus they gave out amazing prizes, had an Exhibition of vendors, and you also get $5 Free play! Such a great deal. I didn't know Colusa Casino offers all these events and shows and more.... Of course they have gambling, slot machines, and Bingo there, they do offer Karaoke or Live music on certain nights! They have Jack's Lounge and Grille, so you can eat some good food or buy alcohol drinks! I think Jack's had great food, great service, Pizza's tasted great and I enjoyed my steak dinner there! I tried mexican food for lunch, which was pretty good and they do offer a monthly special or daily special! The bartenders have been really pleasant and friendly, and I have had some awesome drinks there, like the Chocolate Martini! There is a buffet, but I haven't been there yet to eat! I played a few slot machines, I won on Wonka and the Wizard of Oz. Walking Dead is really fun to play and I like the Lord of the Rings too, other than that I am not much of a gambler and still had so much fun! I see a lot of Tour buses coming in, so that is cool. It is a nice crowd of people and it seems that everyone is having a good time at the casino. The front door people are nice and very welcoming, I appreciate they open the doors for me and say "good luck", it makes me feel good :) Thank you! Rewards desk are good too and I know they are trying their best, when lines are long! Hotel staff is wonderful, from being so courteous at check in, to the maids doing great job keeping rooms clean, and to checking out, very politely! I like Colusa casino, I come here to enjoy my time, eat, drink, and have some fun in moderation of course! The main reason I come here recently within a few months, is because my mom is a regular and she loves the place, she says it's her favorite casino compared to Reno and Thunder Valley, plus we only live 1 hour away! We celebrated her birthday here, and let me tell you, that was one of the BEST birthdays she has ever had!!! She got balloons, free buffet, free birthday t shirt and she had a blast!!!!!!! Also, they have a new area of slot machines and it is very nice! I am impressed with so much variety to choose from! The floor people do such a great job, I constantly see the bathrooms being cleaned, and the workers always picking up trash and cigarette butts near the machines, wiping things down! Beverage people do a great job as well, and you can even walk up to serve yourself too, they have a soda machine, coffee area, which is very convenient and FREE 24/7! Or you can even order from Peet's coffee, get a special coffee or fancy pastry! Same prices at any other Peet's and they do have some GOOD coffee, but I think they close around 8pm!! OK, so I only have two negatives to say, and please bear with me, it is just my opinions! One, I dislike the smell of cinnamon in the air, or some kind of fragrance aroma. I do not smoke and the cigarette smoke does not bother me at all, but for some reason I don't like this cinnamony smell or whatever it is and it stays on my clothes. I struggle with allergies year round, so I always have to make sure I took my medicine first before coming and I can handle it for so many hours, then I start getting itchy throat and have to leave! Second, I see a lot of families coming in to eat buffet with little kids, walking through the casino! I know they are coming in to eat with their families and the buffet prices are cheap, but it really bothers me to see little kids passing through. I wish there was a separate entrance to the buffet from the outside! This is probably the reason I have not been to the buffet yet either, because if I am drinking alcohol and gambling, I don't want to be around little kids! I come here to hang out with Adults and have fun! Overall, it is a great casino and you can have fun here win or lose!! I like that they have different promotions and I am learning, just recently joined the Players club and I know it gives back rewards or monthly free play, which means I'll definitely come back once a month or so :) Thank you Colusa casino, Keep up the GREAT work that you do and I appreciate the friendly staff as well :) I have now been here about 7 times and I plan to come back SOON!
I stayed here on a business trip. The rooms were great. Better than some hotels in big cities. Staff, cleanliness of room and wait staff at the restaurants. Even had a good time in the casino. My only somewhat of a complaint is the food is plain and the buffet serves the same food each day I was there. Other than that a great hotel and casino.
This casino has old casino charm. I was happy with my experience here even though I did not win. That is saying a lot. The machines are new and old. I loved driving through the wetlands to get here. The town is very pretty with old historical homes on your way in. The casino is just the right scale for me. Its not too big or confusing. The atmosphere was very warm and inviting. I felt comfortable walking around in shorts and flip flops just checking out machines. In the very back some old man hit a jackpot! That is always a very good sign. I really liked the vibe of this casino. I feel like I could win if I had more time. I was on a road trip and did not have time to eat at the snack bar ,but it smelled good. I was there on a Friday afternoon. Very nicely run place with nice staff. I wanna go back-
We ended up in Colusa for another event and were pleasantly surprised by the Colusa Hotel and Casino. The rooms were clean and updated. The casino was bigger then we expected. The staff overall was friendly and helpful. It's not Vegas but it was fun. I thought the slots were tight!
