the carolee shields white flower garden

This is a lovely spot to strol through at any time, but early spring and summer when the "white" stands out, is beautiful.

This is in one corner of the arboretum!It is a beautiful spot near the gazebo. I have been here for several visits over the years. A favorite spot!

The Shields White Flower Garden is at the Western end of the Arboretum, has been planted with plants with white flowers, and is lovely when the flowers are blooming. The is a gazebo there, and is a favorite place for weddings in the Arboretum.

Several friends have gotten married under the gazebo, and with the shade and the breeze, it's so lovely, even without a wedding going on.

I am an amateur photographer and had a delightful night photographing roses in the light of a 3/4 full moon. Being there was a magical experience that was repeated later when I printed the pictures and saw that the moon actually did provide enough light for the flowers to be visible, often in an artistic manner. I want to go back and do it again with a full moon.

The Carolee Shields Garden is impressive at any time, but at night, with a Full Moon, it is Absolutely Breathtaking. Highly recommended !!!

We first came here for a friend's wedding years ago, and it's surrounded by gardens, rolling lawns and in the right season, there is a grove of trees nearby filled with nesting egrets and night herons. A lovely place for a stroll, picnic or to learn more about flowers, thanks to the well-placed labels.
