It was a really fun day, we rafted for the first time and it was not bad at all. It was a bit tiring but seeing the beauty of nature was just amazing! This is something we plan to do again. The check-in process was so easy. It was also very reasonable.
Very well run and we will definitely be back! The owner is working right there with everyone else and has a great attitude! Enjoyed our day on/in the water.
We had such a great time and Kody our "instructor, life saver and lifter our butts off the ground" guide was a great help to us all!!!! I am definitely doing this again. Our age range was from 50 to 85 so I don't EVEN wanna hear I am too old for this!!!!!! love love loved it and this will be a repeat trip!!!!
River Journey has given my family, friends and I a great time down the river. This is a great time and lots of fun every time I go, which is at least twice a year.
I have enjoyed rafting from Knights Ferry, down the Stanislaus River, for several years. I never get tired of the experience! I have shared this with several friends and now I enjoy the adventure with my children. We went yesterday, with another family, and the excursion lasted about five hours. We had a blast! Thanks, River Journey!
Thank you for your review and we are glad you enjoyed our beautiful little river. Weekends are very popular and weekdays are definitely a lot less crowded. If you change your mind we would love to see you and your family on the river again!
Took a trip down the river on 7/7/13. Our group had 2 rafts with 11 people ranging in ages from 9 yrs to 60 yrs. Every single person had a wonderful time! We booked our reservation over the phone, as we had purchased Groupon deals. The reservation process was a breeze. I received an email shortly after the phone call with detailed information for our trip. I printed all of the waivers at home. Our group had everything signed and ready which made our arrival at Knight's Ferry a breeze. Check in took less than 5 minutes and we were on our rafts within 15 minutes. It took us about 4 hours to get down the river, including our stop for lunch. A shuttle bus took us back to our cars. If you are looking for crazy rapids, this isn't your journey, but if you are looking for a fun family time this is for you.Recommendations: Take an ice chest with lunch and plenty of water. Water shoes recommended for those times you want to jump in the river to cool off. We also recommend hats and sunglasses. And...don't forget your sunscreen!Pros: Easy process from start to finish. Cons: Our group can't think of anything! Oh...everything in your raft gets wet...but that is the fun of it all! We were prepared. :)
We've never dong rafting before so this time we got a guided tour. The river is from class 1 to 2. Most of the trip is class 1 rapid except for the Russian Rapid. The scenery is beautiful and relaxing. Our guided tour was great and we good nice deli lunch served at a private spot facing the river.
This is an adventure that I highly recommend! Great service, amazing scenery! We went during the week and had the river to ourselves! My only complaint is that it wasn't longer. We were to the end of the route in no time flat. Next time we will do more floating and less paddling!
Took our first rafting excursion this past summer, and at the recommendation of a few friends we booked our trip with River Journey Adventures and had a blast! We had a mixed group of people (teens to seniors and a few of us in-between) and two boats. As my daughter and her BFF said: Best. Summer. Outing. Ever.We loaded up our lunches, and our super soakers (a must!) and headed down the river. It was great to have both segments where you needed to paddle like a mad man through the fast waters and to keep out of the the trees, and also areas that you could drift at a leisurely pace. We stopped so that some in our party could jump from the cliff into the river, and another area where we played on a rope swing. We spent the entire day on the river, starting at 10 and not getting to the end until 5 pm. The guides gave us some excellent advice on navigating the river, what to do to avoid getting taken out by tree branches, and where to eat lunch. We are planning another trip for 2013, and plan to make it an annual event.Extremely affordable, very entertaining, and a nice way to escape the real world for a day.
Okay, so it had been awhile since I rafted down this river and I had forgotten almost everything about paddling and how much work it can be. So we ran underneath a few trees but no scratches just part of the river experience. just enough fast water to get a little thrill, beautiful, peaceful scenery. Horseshoe Park half way in the trip was a welcome spot for a lunch break. Check in guys every informative, the guy up the river very accomodating when we got stuck on top of a rock! He just waded out and pushed us off. So see no experience necessary! Oh and when they say everything will get wet... it will.. just bring a small ice chest or two for water and snacks/lunch (depending the size of your group)..sun screen and most important ..WATER GUNS the soaker type .. you need to be ready to get those sneaky kayakers up the river!! Pick up guys were waiting at Orange Blossom Bridge just like promised!! Thank you for hiring and having such great employees ... they start and finish your day with same professional yet friendly, funny, entertaining attitudes.Everyone should do this at least once.. a year!!!
We had a wonderful time on our river trip last weekend with our family. We took their guided trip last year due to the high water and with the lower river levels we were ready to try it on our own. Dave put us at ease and really spent the time preparing us for the river. We handled the fun rapids and were able to avoid most of the trees! Remember to bring plenty of sunscreen as you are in the sun for a few hours and your squirt guns! We use River Journey a couple of times in the past and would highly recommend Dave and his staff to anyone who wants to try some great beginner family rafting. Thanks River Journey.
