river and rock adventures

We took a raft trip on the South Fork of the American River in July with River and Rock Adventures. We opted for the full day raft trip that included lunch. Our guide, Tim, was great and we enjoyed getting to know him. We drove to the site from Lake Tahoe, so it was quite a long drive to be at the location by 9:00 am. The first portion of the trip is more of a float (calm) trip, then we stopped for lunch (delicious homemade guacamole boats!!!!) After lunch, we hit the larger rapids. Some people opt to just do the afternoon portion, and if you are traveling a distance, you might choose to do that. We had a really great time on the river. Make sure you bring and wear your sunscreen!!! The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 is that getting in touch with the 'owners' once we booked wasn't easy (just wanted to reconfirm, but never received a return call or email.) However, they have a great web site with lots of information, so this is very helpful. I would recommend River and Rock adventures and hope to do another trip in the future!
