Loved going to the met, my only criticism would be that they need more seats in the shaded areas behind the stands. The sun was quite hot so couldn't sit in the stands for too long, having a bad back I went looking for a seat in the shade, but not many of them at all.

Met a friend in Bakersfield to go to the drag races. It was a great weekend. The only issue I had was I got into town after dark on Friday and it was hard to find the track in the dark. There aren't enough lights or signs directing you to the track. The rest rooms are old so be prepared. I am used to it so it didn't bother me.

I am 60 and handicapped . Went to races there since 1972 . Went to gate two I was told there is know handicap parking anymore so they sent me to will call tent to see if they would sell me handicap parking . They do not , they sent me to ticket booth , they sent me back to gate two . Went back to same person she sent me to gate one . They said I had to buy a swap meet pass for 75 and a ticket for 25 to park my car . They said the new rules has know handicap parking . How do they get by with that . So I paid they were joy nearly full next to track after stands could have parked 200 cars..I have been handicapped five years and they always charged 50 now it's nuts nobody knows anything . I think they put the money in there pocket . It's a shame I really enjoy going but I will not go back . I give a very poor rating for handicap people . The parking lot is all tore up the bleachers where my wife sat was in very poor condition . Broken needs fixed

The Sat Night Nitro was the best thing ever. The jet cars were unbelievable. I recommend a night here even if you are not totally into drag races. Amazing atmosphere and great races.

We attended the March Meet this year and had a blast. If you're a drag race fan this is the place for you. Open pits, shopping, and races. Wear plenty of sunscreen, there isn't a lot of shade.

March Meets are coming up soon! Every year I attend. Great cars, racing, shopping, swapping, eating, & drinking. A must see. ;). The Bowser boys do a great job. ;),

We received an invitation from the NHRA to attend their California Hot Rod Reunion. We thought it would be fun and we were not dissapointed. There was a silent auction to benefit the Wally Parks Museum in Pomona, a swap meet, a car show, open pit areas and of course nostalgic drag racing. Those older cars are sill fast. They were turning under 6 second elapsed times in the quarter mile and were traveling in excess of 250 MPH at the finish line. If you get the chance to attend a race at Famoso, we're sure you will have a good time.
