We stumbled across this lovely winery. We shared a tasting as one of us was driving. The lady who talked us through the wines was so lovely and it was nice to just sit and chat with someone who knows about the wines and the area. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Napa

Sandy was so helpful with our tasting at one of the oldest wineries in Napa. She made us feel very comfortable while tasting a variety of wines. Our favorite was the Bella Rosa. Then we had a brief tour of the winery due to the rain. We enjoyed our tasting and would definitely go again when we visit Napa.

What a surprise and contrast after visiting Castello di amoroso and sterling winery to find this little winery in the middle of nowhere. It was just by chance we went there , on the map it had a golden start, and I had read that the previous day they had a roasting pig event, so I was expecting a fairly big size winery, to our surprise after driving for quite a while in gorgeous country, thank goodness for our GPS, here is the little winery, you feel you are going back 100 years, the tasting room sure looks that way, the wine tasting was great and the "pourer" were great, we got to take a peak inside where the wine master was crushing some grapes and we saw the cave the first owner excavated, impressive, even so the weather was warm, in the dig up cave it was so coolIt was the perfect winery after the two previous ones, a total contrast, equally interesting, wine was good, the only place we purchased , a very interesting story, a tribute to generations of pioneers who had the vision and dedication to make it workThe winery is a must to visit, away from the businesses of the Napa valley

My favorite kind of winery, salt of the earth kinda place.Very friendly staff and great wines. It's off the beaten path and it's great just the way it is.

I am hesitant to put a review for this winery, because I want it to stay the way it is for those of us, who 'found' it in the middle of nowhere. From the history of this tiny winery, to the current wines they are pouring, it is an experience not to be missed. This family owned winery is making some unique, but very territory appropriate wines. Take the tour of the cellar, it is great!

Its off the beaten track but if you don't mind spending sometime looking for it, its worth the time (took us 45 mins driving around) & effort. If you have the Napa Valley map, you will see its a stand alone vineyard.First, Charlie was excellent! He is studying to be a wine maker and working there to gain experience. We were fortunate as we were the only people there when we arrived hence he took us on a private tour around the vineyard and through the entire process of winemaking. He is extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. Thank you for making our effort looking for the vineyard truly worth it!Its a very small & personable vineyard hence you will still see some of the traditional tools and machine (most not in use anymore). So its good as one don't get to see that often in established vineyards.I can't really recall but I believe tasting was just US10 but if you buy wine then tasting charges will be waived. Most of the tasting around Napa is between USD $15-25 per person on average. If you are a red wine drinker, try their Estate Reserve, Cabernet Sauvignon. For a small vineyard, it has very good quality wine.It was a hot day so I was drinking a white wine in the photo but sorry I can't recall but must be their Chardonnay.I strongly recommend this winery if you are in the area and want to try something different and would like to venture out. Don't forget to have an appointed driver as well..Cheers and enjoy!

Exploring areas further off the beaten path is pleasantly surprising. My tasting was a fun and educational experience. Locals came in while I was there and it was nice speaking with a group to learn more about the area and places to visit. The wine was excellent as well. Can't wait to open a bottle when I get home. Locals suggested attending the winery's many events they hold. I plan to attend something next time I'm in the area.

This was one of our first wine tastings. We weren't sure what to expect but enjoyed the small, cozy atmosphere of this tasting. Our host was very knowledgeable and fun to talk to. It was great to have the one on one and to pick her brain re wine and the Pope Valley Winery. We thoroughly enjoyed this. Other wineries may be larger and more formal but this was right up our alley. Also the drive there was beautiful!
