Good 2012 Chardonnay Santa Barbara County for $25. Most of their wines are just average for this area. Reserve tasting fee of $15. Beautiful location surrounded by vineyards.
Nice property however the wines were unimpressive. Will not be back. There are too many other wineries in the area if you are a true connoisseur.
I stayed in Solvang and drove over to Bridlewood Estate Winery for wine tasting. The grounds are just amazing. The rollowing wineries and the setting is just spectacular. The wine tasting experience was enhanced as the staff is super knowledgeable. I can definitely see it as a perfect wedding spot for anyone that is looking to have a great romantic setting. I will definitely be back to visit soon.
I have been buying Bridlewood wine for a few years now and for my Bachelorette party, I thought wine tasting would be a fun idea! We booked a tour through captain jack's tours and Tracy our guide was phenomenal. She had a 15 pass van and chauffeured us to the wineries and we requested Bridlewood as one of our stops. Most places in Santa Ynez, you can't go wrong, but the grounds were so beautiful and well kept with an equestrian area attached to it. I loved it so much I became a member so we could go back!
The winery grounds are beautiful, and if you're planning a picnic lunch, this would be a fantastic choice. However, if you're interested in getting a better understanding of the area's wine and winemaking, I'd look elsewhere. The entire experience felt uncomfortably commercial (perhaps in part because the winery is now owned by E&J Gallo). Our tasting was split between two different staff members, both of whom sounded extremely scripted and disappeared after pouring the glasses and rattling off a rehearsed description of each wine (it reminded me of a waiter recounting a chef's daily offering). While the tasting room is pretty, it has terrible acoustics, and with just a few other couples at the long counter the echos made it hard to hear each other. As for the wines, they were certainly not bad. However, when compared to the others we tried in the area, they were fairly boring. This is not a winery to visit for the wines.
What a gorgeous winery. The grounds are beautiful, the winery building is beautiful, the views are stunning and the wines ... delicious!I had seen Bridlewood Estate wines but had never tried them. Now I'll definitely be on the lookout for their wines when shopping or dining. It was a very enjoyable, relaxing visit. I recommend it to you.
The place has breathtaking views. You can appreciate very good wine in a picnic table in the back where they have some of the vineyards and a horse track. My favorite wine was the 2009 Pinot Noir. Lela was very knowledgeable and explained carefully about each wine. We end up buying 4 bottles.
Such a beautiful setting. The winery has table and chairs outside if you want to picnic or just sit and drink and admire the view. We bought there Rose which is delicious. They seemed to be busy and not as attentive but overall very good.
My husband and I and our two kids (11 and 8) stopped here and were pleasantly surprised. They were very nice to the kids and the grounds were clean and beautiful.
It was in a great location with great views in a beautiful mission style building. The wine varieties were limited. The tasting fee for a flight was a bit high - $15 for a flight. Gifts were also limited.
Very pretty estate. Take a picnic, or buy one there. Layne, our tasting server was super fun and delightfully full of accessible knowledge. Of course the wines were lovely. Big fan of the chardonnay (it's the stainless steel eggs) and the grenache.
Very interesting place. It used to be a thoroughbred recovery facility. You can still see the tracks/etc. that was used to rehabilitate horses. The wine was great and the service excellent. Great place to visit.
3rd stop on our wine tour with Grapeline. This is the prettiest winery we saw. Very good for photos in the rear where the horsetrack is. Wines were very good and the wine pourers were friendly and knowledgeable. If you are touring on your own, make sure you visit this one.
The winery and surrounding grounds are nestled in a picturesque place in the Santa Ynez valley, about 20 minutes from Solvang. They have a picnic area, and some tables overlook a lake. The sommeliers are friendly and helpful, and there are some nice wines included in the tasting.
I recently attended a members only event that was amazing. Good trucks, vendors, live band and unlimited pours for 3 hours. They have a nice lake where you can have a nice picnic. Great for a nice afternoon of relaxing.
