This is a really nice, pristine area for hikes and family picnics. The water, trails and hiking paths are all very beautiful and quiet. The facilities are pretty basic which can be expected in such a remote area.

Sunol Regional Wilderness park is a nice place to take a hike; trails vary in difficulty. Scenery is nice with water views, animals, and scenic hills. There are also picnic opportunities. Do take lots of water with you. Its best on a warm spring or fall day.

Family took a hike to SRW on a beautiful Sat morning in May. We hike to the Little Yosemite falls and had a mini picnic there - unfortunately due to the drought, the falls was a trickle but it was a nice hike.The trail is easy to walk, albeit a bit of a gradient, on beaten paths/road. Beautiful natural scenery along the way, but wear protective gear from the sun - little shade so sun could be hot. We saw a baby rattlesnake crossing the road in front of us, minding its own business, but we were careful to give it a wide berth!Didn't have a chance to go horse riding but I expect it would be a spectacular ride in the falls with the changing of colors! Must return in the fall to check this out.There are lots of trails to go hiking on, and it is a great way to spend a day wandering around this beautiful part of the bay.

Although beautiful, I think we'll explore other hiking trails before returning here. Many of the trails were muddy and poorly marked. At times, it seemed like we were wondering on someone's farmland... beautiful farmland, though! Horses are allowed and would probably be a great way to explore many of the trails. Construction kept us from seeing Little Yosemite. We enjoyed the short trail called Shady Glen Trail (no horses on this trail). Parking fee is $5 and worth it.

A stop first at the visitor center is a must to grab a map and ask questions about the hike you would like to take. We enjoyed our hike to Little Yosemite and back to the visitor center. It can be steep at times, take your time and you will enjoy it.

We hiked to the top of Flag hill and back through back roads. The hike is very suitable for kids, including our 4-years-old who walked it all through. We hiked the 3 miles in just over 3 hours, including stops.The view is superb, and weather was great as well (late May). I am not sure this is an ideal summer hike, though.

There are many trails in the Sunol Wilderness Park. Today I ended my hike on the Canyon View Trail at Little Yosemite before taking an easy stroll back to the parking lot. As usual I climbed down the boulders to find a few great spots to relax and listen to the soothing sound of waterfalls along the Alameda Creek. There was nobody else down at the Creek during the entire 45 minutes leading up to 10am. You just need to be careful in climbing up and down the boulders as a slip can result in bodily injury, which may be why few people venture down from the trail above. There is really nothing to worry about if you are in good shape, have good hiking shoes and watch your steps.

I love it because I feel that I won't get lost while hiking alone. Most of the hiking trains are easy to intermediate or more if you want it. I can bring my dog. She gets to see some turkeys or cows. A good day hiking place or for a picnic.

Definitely go there in early spring, when the rain gives the hills a fresh coat of green and the wild flowers are in bloom. The trails are easy on the feet and not too bad even if you are carrying a 2-year old. The trail to Little Yosemite is of moderate slope, but we were rewarded with a restful spot along the creek at the destination.

We were just looking for a place to hike with kids. But this place turns out beyond our expectation. The visitor center is located about 10-minute winding drive from highway 680. It is very quite and surrounded by woods. There is a creek near by. The water was low when we got there, so we were able to get down almost to the center of the creek bed. The kids (4 and 6 years old) loved the place. We could explore further along the creek.Passing the a small yet charming wood bridge not too far from the visitor center, we had a few options of hiking routes to pick. Being new to this area, we selected a short and easy one. Though it's only about 2 miles, this trail presented us rich geographic varieties. The kids were thrilled when they had opportunity to lay out a rock path over a couple of tiny creeks and get across.I am very sure we will be back there soon to check out other trails.

This is one of my favorite places in Northern California. For a regional park, it has a lot going for it. It has a range of ecosystems from the Alameda creek rushing down through granite fields (Little Yosemite) into a small forested area to grassy hilltop hiking trails. It connects to MIssion Peak park and to del Valle (may need a permit). It is great for mountain biking, hiking, horseback, and even has a single group camping site.

This is a nice,close place to go for a picnic and a hike with your special someone! The views are remarkable!

Go for a walk. Many trails that are fun for the family with some amazng views. See many animals on your day trips. Have fun in the little creek that runs through the park...

There are so many trails you can take & things you can see, if you take your time to look for them. The visitor's center is a great place to start, if you've never been here before or you've just never visited the visitor's center here. The hike to Little Yosemite is great, but so many of the trails here are. Wonderful times spent with family making great memories!! At Flag Hill, you can REALLY see how scenic the view is! This is one of my favorite places!!!

Variety of trails for all levels of experience/challenges. Excellent access to Ohlone Wilderness. Some of the best hiking in the Bay Area.
