Take a smooth, fast and safe ride to San Francisco - and arrive on time - on the Vallejo/SF Ferry. It takes about the same time as driving - but with none of the hassle. When comparing the cost of gasoline, bridge toll plus parking charges, I'm sure it is also cheaper. Have a bite, sit in airliner seats, read your paper and you are in down town S.F.

I want to start this review off with nothing but accolades for the wonderful service and hard work of the crew of the ferry. I have taken this ferry to San Francisco for years and have enjoyed my time on the ferry each and every time. Unfortunately, this past Tuesday when I was with friends that positive experience quickly soured. On Tuesday when it was my turn to pay for my ticket at the window the woman who's name is Amy refused to allow me to purchase a disability ticket, as I did not bring my car's registration with me. She was extremely rude and belligerent to me as she basically told me I was not considered handicapped even though all of my doctors, blue handicapped placard, evident use of a cane, limp, and a bone stimulator was evidently attached to my back. Surprised, I told her I didn't have my cars registration with me as I rode in with friends due to the fact I had major back surgery a few weeks ago. I suppose I should have had the paperwork but her belligerent and argumentative manner, where she refused to allow for the fact that I was handicapped (for 7 years now) was unjust. Her lack of common sense and empathy placed a dark cloud over my first trip in several years, this small trip was my reward for several surgeries, horrible pain, learning how to walk again for the third time and general rehabilitation I have had to endure for the past few years. This reward, which I had been looking forward, too was marred. Perhaps it is the policy of the Ferry company to refuse the discount if someone didn’t have all of their paperwork identifying their evident, plain as day, disability, but I can say that in the past 7 years I have never had anyone request such paperwork. I also want to note that several folks ahead of me in line were able to claim they were senior citizens and they received that discount but she never checked their ID's, she just took them for their word. I feel that such prejudice, bias, extreme belligerence, rude and general lack of unkind behavior by such an employee to another human being and customer is and was inexcusable. I hope that in the future this woman who is apparently some "self-appointed" disability enforcer learns her lesson and realizes that most people don't wish to be handicapped and don't typically tend to pretend that they are handicapped to save a few dollars on their ticket. No, I was injured while I served my country thus I humbly propose that I deserve a little bit of respect instead of being made to feel embarrassed as if I was some sort of scheming criminal.

A super way to get into SF wiithout any traffic! The boat ride takes exactly one hour and you get right into the heart of SF. Great deal!

Very prompt on timings & reliable transport. We have used the ferry on several occasions & it's very scenic. The buildings look so majestic.

I use the bay area ferry every week going to work. It's such a peaceful way to travel to San Francisco. You can save a lot of money if you get a clipper card. The ferry is pricey if you compare the price with Bart or Bus, however, it's more enjoyable and relaxing.

I've been taking the San Francisc bay ferry from Vallejo to SF for 3 years. Great way to commute, great crew always friendly, the ride is comfortable! Coffee in the morning & cocktail on the way home. The crew greats you by name & just make you feel special. I can't say enough GREAT THINGS.

The ferry between Vallejo and San Francisco is a very comfortable way to travel without the stress of all the traffic. There is a snack bar, comfortable seating and it's not particularly crowded except for the height of rush hour.

This has to be the best thing I've done in a while. I'm moving to the Vallejo, CA area and discovered this ferry service that will directly take you to Pier 41 in San Francisco. The fare is $13/ per adult each way which at first I thought was pricey, but after the ride it was WELL worth it. The ferry is famous for being on-time and leaving on-time and that's exactly what happened with me. The ferry was due to leave Vallejo at 10:30 and we was backing up at 10:29. There was a ton of people in line for a SF Giants fan fest and I was worried that the boat didn't have enough room and it had more than enough. The ferry is 2 stories with a back deck with about 12-16 chairs on it. We decided to sit outside and experience the bay first hand. It's a gorgeous ride and takes about 40 minutes to get to the ferry building and then another 10 to Pier 41. The boat is very fast, but very stable. I took a ton of photos. From the ferry you can easily see Alctraz Island, Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge, Skyline of San Fran and so much more. The inside of the ferry is very quiet and relaxing. They have a snack bar with food and drinks and free wifi on board. They also have tv screens with current weather and tracking information of the ferry. Great time!

Take a day and ride the ferry. Ride them all...you will need a whole day on Angel Island, but for everything else, there is nothing like the perspective from the water. If you are a senior the cost is very reasonable. And, don't forget your coat. You will always need a coat on the outside.

Ferry is a relaxing and scenic way to get to pier 39 in San Francisco. Of course it didn't hurt that it was 70 degrees and a crystal clear day. Sure beats fighting traffic and huge parking rates

Not wanting to face big city traffic... and finding a place to park... we decided to book passage on the Vallejo ferry. Such a great way to visit the city! We've now used it three times on various trips to the area -- my son is stationed at Travis AFB in Fairfield. While the drive through Vallejo looks a little sketchy at first, the ferry has a safe parking lot and a comfortable coffee bar for waiting. The ferry takes about an hour and has numerous trips into and back from the city. We take it to the SF Ferry building and start our SF tour from their. The ferry itself has free wifi and a snack bar and relatively clean restrooms. The seats are comfortable enough for an hour trip and there are lots of them on two levels. The views of the bay are fantastic. The ride is smooth and the fare is a reasonable value. The schedule offers quite a bit of flexibility -- departing as early as 6:30 for the city and returning as late as 7:30. While waiting for the ferry to return, be sure to spend some time in the Ferry building, there are excellent food, drink and souvenir shops oriented to tourists.

Looking for something different to do on a weekend? Why not take the fabulous Vallejo Ferry to San Francisco. Some departures dock at the San Francisco Ferry Building and then take a detour to Pier 41 (near the famous Pier 39 attraction). This is the BEST way to travel to San Francisco: no smog, no traffic, no stress from driving. The 60 minute ride is an hour of fun, especially when returning at night. The scenery is spectacular. WARNING: the 10am Saturday morning run is always jammed-packed. I highly recommend arriving at least 30 minutes prior to departure because this boat fills up quickly.

Nice large comfortable vessels with bar/snacks/restrooms glide at speed over the water allowing a quick easy round trip to San Francisco from a port about 10 miles from Napa Valley (Vallejo, CA). Views not only of the surrounding bays, hills, etc., but Alcatraz, Bay Bridge, The Golden Gate, and you land around Fisherman's Wharf. All this in comfortable seating. Sit or stand; inside or outside. A great value and good way of avoiding a lot of traffic to visit SF. Passengers only; no cars.

Went to San Francisco via this ferry. It was a refreshing and a fun way of transpo to San Francisco. Two stops from Vallejo Ferry Center , first will be at San Francisco Ferry Building and last will be at Pier 41. Very safe and comfortable ride . I will defintely make use of it again

The ferries (on both our trips) were large, accomodating, totally on time, and took us on a nice ride which we enjoyed by the time we reached Vallejo to continue our journey towards Napa. The frequency is good on weekdays, but please increase the frequency for weekends too :)
