We bring our clubs every time we go to Catalina !! We consider Catalina a must go for many years with family and friends. The course at one time was 18 holes but now is played 9 holes. To play 18 we play twice around. The clubhouse is reserved for special events.
Played with local friends and loved it. Thanks Bobby!! Played again in a fundraiser and eagled the 4th!!! Defo back again!!!
Enjoyed playing golf on this short golf course. We played nine holes. Lovely setting about Avalon with some lovely views. We were able to get golf balls, tees, clubs, 2 water, 9 holes of golf, and a cart for a about $70.00/person. Lovely courtyard at the clubhouse. Lots of people playing on the day we played.
It is just $9 for this course. At least half of it is shaded. Each hole gives a bit of Catalina history. It was a lot of fun. (If you go on your birthday you can play for free, but it closes at 5 pm.)
Played golf there in August 2014. There is a drought right now so course looks dry but it was great to golf on such a historic golf course. Clubhouse courtyard is very nice also!
Did not play but toured around the course. Lovely setting just above Avalon and lots of locals playing 3 par.
During our vacation, we had 2 golf tickets included in our hotel package. Had a great time and it was very nicely laid out with fun obstacles :)
The course is nine-holes and is set in beautiful landscape right above Avalon Harbor. The greens are really bad. Fairways only fair. But it is enjoyable enough for a friendly round with friends. Not good for serious golf.
We went twice and both times the customer service at the pro shop was awesome. Even though we were hot, hungry and cranky, the staff remained cheerful and helpful. The course is a 9-hole course and not in the best shape, but it is good enough to kill a few hours after snorkeling and before happy hour.
Very different kind of mini golf. It has a rustic feel. It really needs a facelift though. We went at night and some of the lights were out. The greens were pretty beat up. I grew up going to Catalina and the mini golf has always been a must. But, I am sad to say it really needs a bit of work.
I am sure this is still something nice to do on the island on a nice day. However, we drove up to the course to check it out before golfing and decided it didn't look that great and not worth it to us. I would say check it out before you book and make your own decision.
We need to kill a couple of hours so we did golf. It was so much fun. I wasn't very good but no one cared.
You can get reservations on this course for as little as 99 cents if you cruise the internet. The course is nine holes, and pretty easy even though it is narrow, because most shots funnel to the center of the fairways. We were there on MLK Day and it was not crowded at all.
The course was fun but not in good condition. We were there in the off season so we pretty much had the place to ourselves and a family of deer. The views are very nice
A beautiful island with a poor conditioned course. This golf course should be the pride and joy of this island. It would bring a ton of mainlanders here if they made it into and 18 hole in pristine condition. But not, the green had st. Augustine grass twined in which affected the roll of your putt. It was expensive to play even with a senior rate. We nearly finished in an hour. We love to play so we still had fun.
