redding civic auditorium

The city of Redding should have never leased this to a church...What were they thinking? Now many from the community simply go there as seldom as possible...

There were 13 presenters explaining ideas on how to make our city safer. Our elected and appointed officials are looking at these for possible implementation. Funding is an impediment,however. There were about 1500 in attendance.

Cold and sterile concrete place with no heart, just high prices and poor parking and access. Would not pay to go there again.

Saw a show at the Civic last Saturday and was very pleased with the comfy seating, sound and pleasant people working the place. It is located near the Sacramento River and you can show up early and go for a nature walk or walk on the multi-million dollar Sundial Bridge. Easy access off I-5 with ample parking.

We attended the Civic for Bethel School of Ministry Sessions. The venue is large and impressive. Ample catering facilities and all the usual amenities.

Older auditorium, managed under contrsct by Bethel Church. Classes for their school are taught here. Weekends the shows presented are very good, mostly not religious, top stars, but check your programing because some shown are religious in nature, put on by Bethel.

We were there 3 days for a conference. For the most part of the conference we sat in chairs on floor area, which was fine. But one time to sit with some friends we sat in the balcony. The seats were way too cramped! Felt like sardines in a can! No room for your legs and the whole row had to get up and leave their seats so anybody could get out, to say, use the restroom!

Very nice venue..a little dated. Needed some loving care. The concert was astounding. Had the best time ever. Event space very well organized and wonderful folks that served as ushers and general staff. Will go again. Worth the trip.

The place is great for a huge conference and the facility is near a beautiful park. I like the area because it's scenic and peaceful. I like the way the people run the Civic Auditorium. The energy there is extremely positive and restful.

I've gone to The Civic for various events for a couple of years now. At first the building needed some tender loving care. It recently got new management and WOW what a difference! I was there last week and was amazed at the amount of improvements that have been made!!! The new management is bringing the Civic back to it's previous glory!!! It seems that they are starting to bring in bigger and better shows too... Can't wait to see the continued improvements!!!

Cool April Nites. This is the best place to be during April. Cars everywhere. The Civic Auditorium started out with a bang with lots of concerts and expos. The color of the trees, flowers and geese make a wonderful drop for pictures. Cool April Nites just brings the Civic to life with all the wonderful cars.

I have gone to the Civic Auditorium for a number of things; bridal shows, Laser Floyd...fun. But I went for a concert with my disabled husband and we were stopped and nearly made to walk up and out through a number of flights of stairs instead of through the flat, close by wheelchair accessible doors (he was not in a wheelchair, but a leg brace with crutches). This may have just been an issue with the hired security and not the venue itself but it was annoying.

This was designed to bring concerts and events to Redding. When it was 1st built that was the way it was run. But for some reason they just quit trying to bring in big name rock stars etc. and it became a liability instead of an asset. If the city would have hired a full time promoter and let them solicit the rock concert tours this place would have been a huge money maker. But now it is being run by church and it will probably die.

It was a good car show, but my husband & I think it was a bit pricey. $8 to get in. The pancake breakfast was good, you can get as many as you wanted in the one trip, $4 included sausage and milk or O.J.

This building is a treasured piece of Redding's history, and we aim to save it's integrity while we modernizing the interior.
