WHEN IN SPOKANE: (You know, like, When in Rome)You Must visit “HIGH COUNTRY ORCHARD”---a little or should I say big slice of heaven in the Spokane valley.This past summer while visiting in Spokane my sister and I decided to check out High Country Orchard.Where should I start? There is so much to rave about.This place is a true gem and a delight. Everything about this place is perfect, delightful, and excellent.Don and his wife Teri own and operate this beautiful place. Excellent staff, awesome customer service especially Don’s kids that also work there.Lunch is served at the Bistro. I had the most amazing Panini sandwich with fresh home-made pasta. The pasta not only tasted delicious it was a very generous serving as well. And seriously try the SMOOTHIES. I am very picky about fresh fruit and the taste of a healthy delicious smoothie and these are the best.HOMEMADE PIE: Yes. Yes. Yes. Try the home made pie. Everything about the pie is true perfection right down to the crust. I loved the pie so much that I bought an extra piece to take home with me. Stroll the grounds, pick your own fruit from the vast orchard. And one of my favs—petting the donkeys (Chico & Pono) and the St. Bernard dogs (Hadley and Lucy). The animals just added a whole different kind of charm and I could see the kids loving to pet the dogs and interact with them.And you will love the little country store.I could have stayed in the little country store forever. I loved looking at all the antiques and various home-made jams and specialty foods that were in the store.I bought the most unique coffee mug and plate and chatted with the cashier while I was being rung up. It turns out she is one of the owner’s daughters. She was so friendly and genuine and even though it was quite busy in there at the time, she didn’t miss a beat. She was taking care of everything and everyone in such a great friendly & efficient way.Kids will enjoy coming here also. There is so much fun to be had here.If you’re in Spokane, IT is a MUST see and do!!!!I will DEFINITELY be going back to High Country Orchard next time I’m visiting Spokane.

We don't get out to Green Bluff very often but when we do we ALWAYS go to High Country Orchard! It is our favorite place to shop and eat. Great staff and the dogs are a definite bonus!

Heidi, there is one more week of our Harvest Festival, so do make it up here before October runs out!!! The bridge has reopened between us and you so it will be more direct next time you come out. Thank you so much for taking the time to post on trip advisor. We appreciate it!!

Susan, it is so fun to hear that the pies turned out great!! This I did not know - you will have to bring us a slice sometime =) Love having you visit the store and making me jealous when I hear about you sitting in Whidbey Island eating our peaches and yogurt...

I'm so sorry you had such a frustrating experience! You are right that we often are unable to answer the phone as the store is so busy, so we just have the answering machine give all of the details for us and reply mostly just to emails and facebook posts in the evening during down time. I'm so glad that the staff replaced your order with no questions asked - we work hard to do that! We often don't take names down because we are just a small rural town where we just take our customers' word for something - if you say there is a problem, we just fix it when you come in! We had two new boys working for us this year so there was indeed some confusion on names of fruit. The overall variety was a Red Globe but the peaches were not identified by that but by their specific names. The long-time farmer at the register knew the variety was Red Globe but the kids working for us just knew the peaches by their official names. Had you come in a week later they would have known much more as they learned quickly!! Anyway, we work hard to be a super friendly, caring, well-run organization and I'm so genuinely sorry you weren't pleased. We were thrilled to offer the peaches at such an incredibly low cost this year, lower than anyone else on the bluff. We will try hard to do that again next year and hope you will come back and give us another chance! Thanks for shopping with us and hope to see you again. Teri

Thank you for the positive things you had to say about our family run place. It is indeed a gorgeous, down-home place with great food! Our whole family, including our 11, 16, 18 and 20 year old children work the store so you never know who will be at the bistro or register. I'm glad Jonathan did a good job for you! We are carrying the exact same quality items from the same vendors - no change there, but we have REDUCED prices by $2-$5/item from what they were before. We have added our two St Bernards, Lucy and Hadley to the farm, as well as our little Poopsie dog, the outdoor kittens, donkeys, chickens and bunny, and they have been a huge hit to almost everybody. We never, ever allow them into the kitchen, however. We have indeed changed the music to Michael Buble and old favorites from the 40s and 50s and will keep in that direction as it has been super well received by almost everyone. We are sorry that the new changes have not been to your liking as we have made it much more farm-like and family friendly but we promise that quality will stay high, good food, warmth and customer service remain top priority and we hope you will try us again sometime!!

Carrie, it is always a delight to have you stop in! The absolute best thing about High Country Orchard is all the amazing people we get to talk to day in and day out. Customers like you make it SO fun to do what we do!!!

We have continued to work hard to make High Country Orchard even more family friendly by adding animals to pet (two huge St Bernards, kittens, miniature donkeys, chickens, a bunny rabbit), golf cart rides around the orchard whenever we can, a pumpkin patch and fun kid-friendly music and employees who just absolutely love people! So come again for a visit and see what has changed from the last time you were here!!! Hope to see you soon =)
