grand coulee double dam

Beautiful place to visit in fall - we were camping and found the campground at steamboat rock to be very nice and enjoyable.

Grand Coulee is an amazing example of engineering. A visit to the dam is not complete without going to the visitor center. The dam is impressive but you will be more more impressed when you watch the film showing and telling how it was built. The engineers and workers had huge obstacles o overcome. Put this on your bucket list There is also a nice picnic area. The Safeway store nearby has everything for a great meal.

Wow and there it is......... the Grand Coulee Dam. Makes you feel itsy bitsy. It's enormity is jaw dropping. Do stop at the top to read about the Dam history. You will need a panoramic able camera to take in the whole thing. Along the way we were fortunate to see deer and wolves, amongst the farmers fields of green and gold.

The history, the magnitude of constructions. The light show was fun also! As someone who grew up in Eastern Washington and lived part of the history, 1962 and on, it was interesting to see how all the stories wove together.

Grand man built wonder which I reviewed earlier, and so worth seeing the Visitor Center and surrounding landscape, as well.

Great tour of the dam by very knowledgable guides. The museum has fascinating information on the history of the area and the building of the dam. The laser light show is average. But the are redoing it for next year. A must see if you are in the area. and it is all free!

A very nice Visitors Center with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very impressive structure with much history. Take the tour, it's great!
