A wonderful place to learn more about the environment we live in. Interesting informatiive displays with beautiful aquariums containing sea creatures that live in Puget Sound. Leading from the front door of the interpretative center, a paved trail a few hundred yards long with a slight downhill grade (entirely wheelchair accessible), takes you to a tunnel under the road to a deck that looks out over Padilla Bay. From there a spiral staircase provides access to the beach. This center, part of The National Reserve System, uses its living laboratories to find solutions to crucial issues facing America's coasts like climate change, habitat protection and water quality.

This little jewel tucked away on Bayview-Edison Road in the Skagit is a must-see for a family. The center is beautifully managed, with interesting displays. The new aquarium is delightful. The real-time images of the nesting herons provided by Skagit Land Trust and the Interpretive Center are captivating. Usually I see these unusual birds hanging out in ditches and here they are caring for chicks in their nests. A walk down the twisty staircase to the beach is also a must. The views of Padilla Bay and the San Juan Islands alone are worth the trip. Then hop in your car and drive several minutes down the road to the foody town of Edison for a perfect day

My sons loved this place. We went often when they were younger. Hands on experience for kids and adults.

I love to take my kids out to Padilla Bay for the day. This place is not only fun but educational too! Kids can learn alot and not even realize its happening.

If you have to go to a meeting or training, this is a pretty good venue. The surroundings are beautiful for a walk during your break.

Nice combination of interesting and educational. Grandkids - in their teens - enjoyed the visit, too. There were younger children there who seemed to be enjoying as well.
