We only stayed overnight pulling the RV off the road at dusk. The people there were nice enough. The bad part is that the freight trains run every twenty minutes or so all night long. It was cool for one night and leaving in the morning if you like trains. Not for an extended stay.

My husband and I stayed her in early August 2014. We intended on staying for a week to do some serious fishing and ended up leaving after 2 days. First of all, don't go in early August. The weather was really hot and the lake was in a giant stinky algae bloom. So there was no way to cool down as I wouldn't even put my foot in the water, my dog didn't want to go in either and he is lab! There were tons of trout jumping at night but there were none to be caught so obviously August is not the time to fish in Eastern WA. None of this is the fault of the RV park obviously, but none the less, not pleasant. Now on the to RV park....it is nice enough as you pull in. We had a great spot right in the front a few feet from the lake. However, there are so many rules it was difficult to enjoy our selves. It seems like everytime we turned around the owner was lecturing us on something such as not parking on the grass (the entire area is grass and we are pulling a trailer), not leaving coolers on the grass, not leaving lawn chairs on the grass (where are they supposed to go), running the air conditioning while the door is open (I didn't close it all the way accidentally and didn't notice it had swung open). We had to unhitch our truck and park it in the upper lot....however...the other 3 rigs that were there were allowed to remain hitched and to park on the grass...no explanation for that, maybe she didn't like the looks of us or something. Anyway, I understand not having carpeting on the grass because it will kill it and she does a nice job watering and keeping it green but man...I felt like I was a 2nd grader being scolded daily. I thought the price was a bit steep for Eastern WA too..$45 day and wifi was an extra $3 day with good connection. Showers rooms are old but recently painted. The showers themselves are tiny, and you can barely turn around in them. There are no spots with sewer hook ups (that I saw anyway) so if you want to shower, you better be skinny! Finally, the worst thing about this RV park that they do not advertise is the constant running of the trains day and night 24/7. They are not as frequent during the daytime but starting around 4 pm and going ALL NIGHT every 30 mins. They are extremely loud and shake the entire ground. Oh and they blow their horns too! We literally would get 20 mins of sleep then get woken up for 10 mins while they passed, 20 more mins of sleep and woken up again. we tried everything from leaving music on, air conditioning on, ear plugs to no avail....it was awful. Its very hard to be tolerant of everything else when you are operating on no sleep. It is also the spot where the trains go from 2 tracks to 1 track so often times there are trains stopped but running for upwards of 30 mins waiting for the next train to pass. It really was terrible. We had to leave just to get peace and quiet. There isn't anything much in the town either. 2 antique stores, 1 restaurant off the freeway and a gas station. We checked out the other resort at the opposite end of the lake and it is worse! If you just need a place to sleep for the night, I would suggest pushing on another 20 miles to Spokane and pull into a Walmart parking lot for the night, you'll get a better nights rest! This is not a vacation destination.

The website for the resort is reasonably well done and gives you the impression that this would be a nice place to go fishing. WRONG on all counts. The website says that they have some of the best dock fishing in the state. The area is so chock full of weeds that you can't put ANYTHING in the water and reel it in without bringing in a load of weeds. IF you have a boat, then you might have good fishing out on the lake but not at the resort. We sat there on the dock watching a couple of guys catch well over their limit just 50 yard off the dock. There were some rowboats on the shore but no oars. We, like a lot of fishermen, get up at the crack of dawn to go fishing. All seemed ok when we drove up. The gate was open and there was an early arrival setup where you put your money in an envelope and drop it through the window. We did and set up on the dock where we caught weeds and watched the other guys hauling them in. There was quite a show of pelicans, cormorants an other fishing birds. At least we got that out of the visit. We finally decided to go back into Sprague (sorry to the lady who was scared of the place, but it is just another past it's prime Eastern Washington farm/rail town and nothing scary about it.) to pick up some worms at the gas station. We then went down toward the other end of the lake to try our luck at another resort. Nice guy there, but no fish. By now it was around 8am and we decided to go back to Sprague Lake Resort to rent a boat and try the worms where we say all the fish being caught. Imagine our surprise and my absolute disgust when we arrived back and were met by the wicked witch of the west that owns the place. She was out spraying weeks along the road and waved us down as we drove in and yelled at us for not letting her know that we were leaving from our first visit and that we couldn't come back in without paying again. I asked how we were supposed to tell here we were leaving when she wasn't there to tell? She proceeded with the attitude saying that she didn't want anyone there before 7 in the morning anyway. Remember: gate open, early arrival drop box!?? She just wouldn't let up with the carping and whining. I finally told her I didn't like her, her attitude or the way she ran her business and we left. I cannot fathom how two other people on google+ writing reviews had anything good to say about her. Even the gal in town that sold us the worms said that she was a miserable sort. I would give this ZERO stars if possible.
