Spring comes to the Pacific Northwest while most of the north is still locked in winter. If you are lucky enough to be visiting Seattle, a nice place to stroll are the flowering gardens of the Arboretum. The Witt Winter garden has a collection of early bloomers and plants with interesting bark and form, the Camellia garden was spectacular and the Magnolias- oh my!

Every plant and tree is marked with its story. At overtime of year there is something in bloom. Parking can be a challenge, so prepare to walk. when Cherry blossoms are in bloom, there is long line of cars. There are places to picnic as well.

This is a very pretty place to take your mother for Mother's Day. So many beautiful flowers and nice green grass to enjoy. Many families come here to picnic and enjoy the beauty.

Beautiful park, well maintained. Nice to walk around, very scenic and refreshing.Dogs need to be on leash.Little confusing to get there. but lots of parking and worth visiting.

We liked the trees and shrubs in blossom. The well-kept pathways. The cleanliness of the area. The views. Our dogs enjoyed the walk with us and did not mind staying leashed. Looks like a great place to re-visit.

The only thing one might dislike would be the entry fee. However, the money goes for the upkeep, so one cannot really begrudge it. Inside, the Arboreturm is a great place to stroll and enjoy the flowers, the trees, in their various seasons. The Japanese garden has been tended with loving care and shows it. Bring a camera, and love the place.

The Arboretum is singularly different from all other parks in the city. There are wonderful gardens planted with things from all over the world that each have a starring role at various times of the year. From the wonderful Rhododendron Garden to the Winter Garden to the out-of-this-world Chilean Fire Trees (Embothrium coccineum), the Arboretum has many plant collections in wonderfully designed areas. The Arboretum is free except for the Japanese Garden, which has an entrance fee. There is also a Visitor's Center with an information desk as well as a gift shop. There are plants for sale grown from seeds and cuttings from Arboretum collection.

The prettiest arboretum I have ever seen... it just goes on and on and there were very few visitors when we were there so it was a lovely respite from the bustling city.

I have beautiful memories there. I move there just to visit it daily if I could. But since I can't, I would love to see it again.

I love the arboretum. So many memories from my younger days here. In spring this place is just gorgeous. But do beware parking your car - Don't leave anything visible. Lock valuables in the trunk.

Easy walking trails, lovely views, and great flora throughout - this is a great way to spend a sunny afternoon in Seattle. There are plants and trees from all over the world, and if you time your visit right and have the opportunity to listen to one of the volunteers describe some of the intricate work that goes on to bring these exhibits to life, it is fascinating to listen to. Wear comfortable clothes - plan for a multi-mile stroll. It is not strenuous, the paths are nicely laid out, but it can be 3-4 hours long if you try to see the whole place...

Great collection of plants from many corners of the world. Including many rhododendrons that are native to the area, but also others that are from China. The park changes colors and mood throughout the 4 seasons of each year. I love it alone or with friends and family.

Well directed paths and interesting flora. A nice place to spend some time. Near Science and Industry museum.

After spending all weekend attending a very crowded and noisy expo, I really needed to find a quiet place to unwind. The arboretum was everything that I hoped for, and I truly enjoyed wandering the many paths through the botanical gardens. It was really quiet with only a handful of people about, so it was a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the city.
