There isnt much here for the non rev war junkie, well there are hiking trails, but it is a lovely place for a picnic. No restrooms though.

It is a drive to get here & there isn't much here but there is such an eerie quality about it that I must suggest it to anyone who is into the Revolutionary War. You can almost here the battle through the silence and feel it on the wind. A beautiful drive this time of year and you can stop by Musgrove Mill historic site on your way.

I enjoy going to battlefields-so when I found this one is open to the public=I had to go. the battlefield is maintained by the state of SC parks. It's like 10 miles from Musgrove Mills Historic Site. Direction signs make the field easy to find. the final portion of the drive takes you down a long logging run which is semi-paved. just keep driving until you reach the end of the run. park your car and walk a short distance to the clearing. It is here where the Americans fought the British during the American Revolution. Nothing remains of Blackstocks farm. There is a historical marker remembering when/what took place. Its so quiet and peaceful now- great for reflecting on the battle. The site is best for history buffs who enjoy going to actual sites. There is a trail that is part of the palmetto Trail network. I did not walk the trail. It does take the hiker down to the Tyger River. I stayed about a half hour walking around the field. If your in the area-check it out.
