We recently took some first time visitors to visit this Memorial. It does a good job of paying tribute/respect to our veterans.
This is a great place for veterans and military families to visit and see some of our local heroes. It has plaques for veterans from South Dakota throughout history that have served with honor. I also found a neat Geocache here!
Beautiful Park...Many people in the city do not even know this park exists. It is a gorgeous place...in the Spring the Cherry blossoms are awesome. The statue of the angel carry the soldier to heaven is our favorite because it is in honor of one of our Sioux Falls Soldiers who gave his life for our freedom. His family commission the artist who had a small version of it on the downtown sculpture walk. The family had beeen admiring the statue the very night their son lost his life. It's a wonderful park.
My husband is a wounded veteran so this was a must see on our trip. I was very impressed with how well the park was kept up! The grass was mowed, flowers beautiful, flags flying high, and not a spec of litter in sight. I was a tad turned off at first as it seemed to be in a "bad" area of town, but we had a great time there! Beautiful paved paths make for an easy ride for stroller or wheelchair and the lawns were big enough to let your munchkins run around. The sculptures/monuments/plaques were all interesting to see as well! Must see.
This park is a wonderful tribute to all American Veterans. The grounds are well maintained with walking paths and benches where you can stop and reflect.
This park is such a wonderful tribute to our veterans, no matter which war or conflict they may have fought in. It is a place where you can walk the trails or sit and reflect. It is beautiful and very well maintained. The park a great place to share with family or friends or just to go and be at peace with yourself.
This is a beautiful park in loving memory of all those whom have fought and died for this great country. This park is well keep, and has very nice walking trails.
This is the second time I have been here in the last 15yrs. The first time I had my young childeren with me. My wife and I explained things to them as best we could. They realy enjoyed it. They Asked lot of quenstions we also answered them the best we could. Now this yr We where able to take our grand son to see it. Boy did he enjoy it. He also asked many questions. We had a good time telling him.and explaining it to him. It is something our kids never for got and we hope he never will either. As every one els has said this is a fantastic tribute .
This memorial is beautiful, serene and well kept. It is a tribute to veterans of all wars and conflicts. The park like setting is perfect for quiet reflection.
Beautiful park by the water and lots of places to walk around. Bridges too. You can even picnic here,
The park is well laid out and is a beautiful tribute to America's heros. Wonderful place for a picnic or simply to reflect on part of America's history.
Nice tribute to those from S.D. who gave their lives for our country. Plaques that tell the story of how these heroes died for us. Beautiful setting.
This park does a good job commemorating veterans...with statues, flags, and plaques. But, it is small, somewhat difficult to find your way in and out (if an out-of-towner like myself), and a sight that you can pass through in 5 minutes or less without missing anything. What this park does offer in way of sculptures, flags, and plaques is nice.
The place was or is beyon any other comments about this place,We told our friends, when we got back to Washington, if you don't get too see anything else, due to lack of time, you will or have to see this Memorial Park. the memories stay with you for a long long time.
