Shelton Vineyards has a beautiful vineyard and winery. Early spring when the dogwoods and cherry trees are in bloom, the complete area takes on a fantasy look. The winery has very good wines, one of the best Riesling wines I have tasted. The owners are usually on the premises and they are very welcoming to all guests. Their wine tours and tastings are superb.

the meal was the best we've had in a while...sampled the wine and enjoyed the beautiful fireplace while we ate.

From personal experience, this is a wonderful stop if you are doing a self-guided local winery tour. My boyfriend first took me here on our first date. It was the first stop of 3 that day. We did the tour and the wine tasting. It was inexpensive, but a lot of fun! And is one of the better winery tours I have been on. After the tasting, he bought me a bottle to take home from each winery. The one bottle that I did not open, was the Cabernet from Shelton Vineyards. I'm keeping that bottle in my wine fridge for a very special day :)

A very nice tour for $5 which includes tasting of their wines. A very nice gift shop also. We bought several of the wines and have enjoyed them with family.

Beautifully located near the Blue Ridge Mountains, it was a fun place to go for a girl's weekend or couple's day out. A friend ad I purchased a package that I included one night at the Hampton Inn (3 miles away with shuttle service) tour, wine tasting and dinner. We enjoyed the tour and learned that there is an additional tasting for a little more money that includes the reserve stock. Very nice wine especially the Reds. The tour lasts about 30 minutes and leaves every 30 minutes.

Shelton Vineyards operates the Harvest Grill restaurant on the vineyard property. The visit is pleasure any time of the year as our visit occurred in January and we were rewarded with beautiful surrounds and a very delightful lunch. The Resturant offer unique dishes with unexpected combination of ingredients. Hints of local southern curisine are adapted into their dishes. Come hungry and with a palet for tasting the Shelton Vineyard wines. The servers are very knowledgable and can make recommendation.

We enjoyed dinner at Harvest Grill with a wine tasting. My wife had Salmon and I ordered the Trout. Both were excellent. For desert we enjoyed pumpkin fritters which were out of this world. We each ordered a wine tasting flight which includes 5 wines of your choice to enjoy with your meal. This is a must. The service is excellent, and when we travel thru northern North Caroline we plan to return for either lunch or dinner.

This was the largest VA/NC operation we have seen yet and it was clearly built with the idea of offer tours. The $5 tour got you a taste of 2 wines during the tour and 3 after but they were very generous and let me taste a couple of the others. If you like reisling this is the best I have found. And their port is quite tasty too.

We enjoyed our visit to Shelton Vineyards. I was not impressed by the grounds; however, the staff was very helpful and the wines were quite good. They had some very good deals and the wines were very well priced. I would certainly visit this winery again in the future.

Shelton Vineyards is my all time favorite local vineyard. The property is immaculately kept. The Harvest Grill serves a delicious lunch. What a beautiful quaint vineyard!

Brought a friend here for her birthday. We had a delicious lunch at Harvest Grille and spent the afternoon feeding the catfish and enjoying the venue. Ended up enjoying sangria by the creek and buying wine. Be sure to try dessert sampler

This is a lovely property. The vineyards and surrounding land is absolutely beautiful and so nicely landscaped. It would be a great place to picnic. The retail space is nice as well, and so was the Harvest Grill.

Well this is the place.The Chef understands food, and is not afraid to go out and do things that are interesting. And with local sources, I have not had a bad meal there.We had a large group there, and they took great care of us!Food, wine (not a full bar, if you want your spirits, you will have to bring a flask) and the wine is good!For sure give this spot a try!

Enjoyed a wonderful glass of Shelton Riesling and cheese plate at the Grill... wonderful views as we sat and enjoyed. The grounds are so picturesque, walk around the lake mirrored the Fall leaves.A beautiful destination for tasting, a quiet picnic, or a wedding.

We enjoyed our wine tasting at the Shelton winery. Lovely setting. The wine was good - our server was nice, but stuck to the script. She was not enthusiastic or informative. There is a nice gift shop with assorted items. You must have lunch at the Harvest Grill! It is a real gem! The highlight of our visit.
