Take into account this was a Saturday Peak Season visit. If you go on some day in the middle of the week (assuming they're open then) and/or off-season, then you're experience will likely be much, much different.Pros:- you'll be supporting a local, family venture vs. a corporate conglomerate with overseas offices- good, winter family fun- the location allows for great vistas and other things to see/do before or after a visit- the fun is simple, yet thrilling- you don't have to cart you're tube up the massive hill, there is a conveyor belt for you and your tube (when it is working--see cons)- they have a nice wood burning fireplace in the "lodge" for warming yourself- you can go down with up to 3 other friends/family members in their own tubes--loads of fun!- fair prices on snacks (cash only it seems)- photos taken of you/your group's rides so you don't have to worry about losing your iphone (prices start at $5 for a 4x6; prints later available online)- each lane has slightly different characteristics to give plenty of variety to each trip down the hillCons:- if it is not freezing cold, the snow will melt at the margins of the slopes causing mud. you will then get muddy bottoms and at least as much up to your knees (bring a change of pants/shoes for the ride home if you don't want a mud-stained car interior)- they have porta potties near the tube return area and single toilet mens/womens facilities in the "lodge"; the lines can be long- you should eat a snack and go to the bathroom before or after your scheduled tubing time; doing either within your time is a waste of money- due to long lines, you'll only get about 1 run every 10 minutes- our group reservation was not properly scheduled from their end and we almost didn't get to go at all due to the high volume; they did nothing to compensate but give extra time on the slopes- of my first five trips up the hill, the conveyor belt stopped working on 3 of them. it's a bear walking up that hill dragging your tube. all they could say was that the motor overheats when too many are on at a time. i suggested at the lodge desk that they do what they do with the slopes. a main safety rule is "don't go down until the lane is clear." why not limit the number of people on the conveyor belt at a time, i suggested. maybe only let the next person on after the previous person passes a certain post or sign marker, i suggested. they claim that that's what they do. that the persons at the foot of the conveyor belt do this. i told them that i haven't seen them do anything of the sort in my rides. they only make sure people get on safely (a very important job). they suggested that i tell them then. i replied that i don't work here--you do. it seems that they later took my advice to heart and the conveyor belt attendants did put a break of about 15 yards per every 10 people or so. this reduced the breakdown times a decent amount.- as per the last comment, the customer service varied widely from one employee to the next- the parking lot can get full fast & many people had to park on the side of the road which meant a moderately strenuous walk up to the lodge- crowded lines, crowded lodge, crowded parking lot--again, peak season on a Saturday- handicapped access is iffy; they do have a nice ramp to the front door of the lodge, but the parking lot surface is gravel. if you don't snag a parking spot near the lodge, you've got a tough push ahead (saw this with a couple of guests).- not their fault at all, but don't expect great cell reception (if you're of the "sharing your pics instantly" kind of person)- many places around the parking lot and the queuing areas at the top of the hill are very, very slippery; i consider myself somewhat mountain goat-like in my llbean vibram-soled hiking boots. i slipped and fell a number of times. nothing serious and thankfully i fell on the innertube a couple of times.Overall:- still not sure if we got our money's worth, but it was a fun memory & experience overall. the things that bug an adult will be missed with most children & mine had smiles on their faces most of the day. - we would do this again, but never on a Saturday- we would bring a change of shoes and pants- we would bring plenty of snacks/water to enjoy before or after, but not during our time- we would confirm our reservation time- we would never show up without a reservation and we would always call to find the wait time

We went on a Saturday morning, I would recommend getting there early if you are going on the weekend! Even though there were a LOT of people there, the wait time for the snow tubes lanes were never more than a minute. There is NOT a dressing room, just two bathrooms, so be prepared. My 3-year old loved it! There was a moving sidewalk that took you up the hill, which really helped. $25 gets you two hours of fun, and that is more than enough! They have chips and candy and soda for sale.

We had heard nothing but good of Jonas Ridge.. I will say that the facilities are nice. We went on what must have been the busiest day of the year.. The staff did not seem to deal well with the large and possibly unexpected crowd. Also they only accept cash, which I really just can't understand in 2015, but that is their preference and it is clearly noted on the website as well. My biggest complaint was the fact that although they were absolutely packed they made no accommodation for the long wait times between each "ride". They should have made accommodation by allowing a longer riding time, since they were so busy. I would like to go back, but for the cost, and knowing that they don't work with their customers, I will weigh my options next time I go the area for snow tubing.

We arrived two hours before they opened, without knowing they opened at noon. The staff had just arrived at the place and had started to groom the lanes for use for the day. We waited patiently while sitting inside by the warm cozy fire. The manager there was extremely friendly. All of the staff workers were very nice. The kids had a blast, and so did we! We will definitely return here when coming back to this area again in the future.

Nice family place. We took our 10 and 8 year old boys and our 4 year old girl. This was our first time snow tubing. Overall it was a good experience. We were concerned that our little girl would not like it and we would be wasting $25, but to our surprise, they said they would give her a refund if she didn't like it. She ended up going down 3 times (with Dad holding onto her tube) and she did like it each time. The boys had a good time. Our 10 year old was able to get in about 10 trips down the hill. We got there at about 12:30 on 12/31/14. They said the wait would be about 15 minutes. It was more like 35 minutes. The lodge was pretty crowded, so we just waiting outside on the balcony most of the time. The line to get on the conveyor belt with your tube was probably about 8 minutes or so with the ride up the conveyor about 3 minutes or so. Depending on which of the 6 lanes you want to go on, there was a few minutes of waiting at the top of the hill. $25 / person seems a tad high for what you get, but that's the going rate for snow tubing I guess. If you didn't already know, it is cash only.

We were so happy with our snow tubing experience! My son is 4 and this was JUST what we were looking for. 6 levels of tubing to choose from and the lines were always constantly moving and you never felt like you were just waiting and waiting like other places. The photographer did a fantastic job as well, our pics are the best of our entire trip. They don't gauge you either. My only complaint is the cash or check thing...it's time for debit or credit! :)

Took a group of kids here ages 12, 13, 14, and 15, and all had a lot of fun. We chose Jonas Ridge after researching similar places in the area and thought the customer service and smaller atmosphere would be more suited to us. The folks at Jonas Ridge were very friendly and do seem to be safety conscious. The area for tubing is small, much smaller than I expected. I have not been snow tubing anywhere else, so I cannot say whether this is the norm or not. At first glance, the kids were disappointed as it looked like it was going to be for little kids only. There are 5 tubing lanes and none seem that high from the ground. We decided to try it as we had driven quite a ways to get there. After the first run downhill, all four kids had a smile on their face and gave the "thumbs up" sign! They tubed for an hour and 45 mins (the length of the pass given) and were very tired at the end! It was not crowded at all, and the kids were able to go down the hill singly, or holding on to each other's tubes as doubles or even all four at once. They were also able to go down feet-first or head-first. There was a moving belt that took the kids and their tubes up the hill to start again. For the parents, there is a lodge off the course that provides seating with a fireplace, drinks/snacks, and a large porch where you can watch the tubers. This ended up being a great day of fun for us, something different to do.

We visit Jonas Ridge Snow Tubing after reading all the reviews of the other snow tubing places around the area. We were pleased we chose Jonas Ridge. Our children ages 4 and 7 had a blast!! The staff is professional and super polite, they make sure everyone is safe. The place is well organized and you have easy access to everything. Lines move fast with very little wait. In the 1 hour and 45 minutes we spend we got to go around 11 times and that was plenty. Parking is free. Bathroom inside the lodge are very clean. We highly recommend the place.

We had a great time at Jonas Ridge Snow Tubing today!! After reading reviews we knew this was the place for us & it did not disappoint! The staff were all friendly & helpful! There are different size tubes so make sure to get the right size for you. Great way to spend time together before our son goes off to Marine boot camp. Thank you :)

We had a great first time snow tubing with our 10 and 8 year old. This place seems to be a smaller facility but we don't have anything else to compare. The weather could have been colder, of course at no fault of the buisiness. The warmer weather made the area muddy but it was still fun. We went down many times in our two hour window and loved the conveyor belt to take us back up. Each person has to ride in their own tube. They do allow you to connect tubes which is great. I also like that you can come any time. My only negative was the staff was not very friendly this particular day. We didn't feel welcomed at all but it was still a great time with the family.

It cost $25 per person for our family and everyone had a lot of fun. They had 6 lanes and allow you to go alone or as a chain of up to four. The lines were a little long, but they moved pretty well so we got to go on all of the lanes several times in the hour and fourty five minutes that they give you. I liked that they have a belt that takes you to the top. Cell reception is very poor, so make sure you know how to get home and am not planning to use Google maps, etc for the first mile or two down the road.

We chose this place to spend some time and was not disappointed. It was new years eve day and seemed crowded but the lines moved fast. You get an hour and forty five minutes, and we got to go 9 times, which was plenty. The people are very polite and it seemed well run. We would highly recommend.

Only 6 runs, all pretty short. But steeper and faster than HawksNest, and nowhere near as crowded. And a little cheaper, too. Three generations of us voted Jonas Ridge as being a LOT more fun.

We had a wonderful time - we were a family of 10 - 8 adults and 3 children, ages 4, 9 and 10. We all had a great time. We went December 26 around 11:00 a.m., there were no lines and the staff was great. They were very safety conscious, very friendly and helped get on and off the conveyor belt safely. There were 6 lanes to choose from which let you pick how fast you went down. There was no parking fee. Will definitely go back !!!

We almost went to Hawksnest... and I'm so glad we didn't. We went tubing last Friday with some friends of ours and all our children (ages 6, 8, 9 and 10).Here's why I love this place more than Hawksnest and why we'll definitely go back. 1) Parents of young kids pay attention here. The place is small enough and enclosed so the kids can run and around together and you can always see them. So they'll have a blast because they'll have some independence. This was huge for our kids.2) There are 6 lanes ranging from slowest/shortest to fastest/longest. Everyone could go their own speed and there were no wait times.3) It's $25 for 2 hours (Hawksnest is $25 for 1.5 hours)4) No parking fees (Hawksnest is $5 bucks to park)4) It has a really cozy lodge with a fireplace and huge porch for when folks get tired or cold.5) It has a conveyor belt so you don't have to climb the hill a million times.Final Thoughts: At a gland this looks smaller than Hawksnest and it is... and it's perfect. The snowtubing is faster, less waiting and it's a safer environment for kids. Plus you get more time for the money than other places. Oh, and they're open until 10pm (at least the Friday we were there - that may be subject to change). If you're on the fence about where to go: go to Jonas Ridge.
