I had been to the original "Petty Garage" in 2000. Then the museum was moved and now it is back. You can see the museum, the original Petty Garage and the Petty house. The house is not open to the public yet but you can see the outside. Many cars in the museum all with information on their history. Also a 7 segment "movie" about the Petty family. If you are interested in NASCAR or the Petty family this is a must see.

Really nice display of Petty cars and trophies. Rather you love petty or not it's worth the drive. Excited to receive our poster we left for him to sign.

If you are a Richard Petty fan or just a NASCAR fan then this is the place to visit!! You can not get a friendlier greeting anywhere then you will get here and walk through the door and meet Bonnie Davis!!Just walking around the museum and the shops around it really makes you fell like you are part of history. You can see many of the Petty race cars and all of his trophys on display. The one thing that was the greatest part of my visit was as soon as i walked through the door and there in front of me was "The King" himself!!! He took some of his valuable time to talk to me and tell me about some of his cars on display. I was treated like i was their best friend there!! My four hour drive from Chesapeake, Va. was well worth it and i will return again!!!!

We stopped here on our way to Charlotte and loved it. I learnt so much more about THE KING and his family from the videos they played. There are 2 parts to the museum. The first part is where all the medals and trophies & gift shop are with the blue cars from the Disney movie "Cars". The scone part is where the workshop and race cars are. There was also a lot of convertibles on display. The museum is located next to the old house that the king grew up in. The ladies at the reception and gift shop were so friendly and helpful and we're happy to have a chat about the king and nascar. Defintely worth the detour!

The museum is located back at the original shops adjacent to the home where Richard Petty grew up in. The museum is in two buildings and the exhibits are great. I believe I understand that the home will be available for tours, but this could be a while. The whole compound is a registered landmark because of all the history involved. The museum itself has numerous cars, plenty of racing artifacts, photo's, racecars of all the Petty family and even an area showing life size cars represented in the Disney move Cars, which I am sure the kids would love seeing; there is a gift shop with reasonably priced shirts, hats, and other items. You could probably tour the whole museum in 60 - 90 mins if you read through all the displays All the ladies working the museum are very cordial and willing to help in any way. Be sure to visit downtown Randleman for dinner or just browsing the shops. The whole day was a very enjoyable visit.

It was great seeing many of the cars from Pettys career. The gift shop was small but had plenty of things to buy including items signed by Richard. Richard was there on the day we stopped by. I don't think I have ever met a more gracious man. He loves his fans and is willing to accomadate them. This is a must stop for any NASCAR fan. Everyone there treated us just great!

The museum is in the process of moving back to Level Cross, the location where Richard was born and raised. There are currently two rooms open to visit. The first has a lot of his trophies/awards, the blue cars from CARS movie, a moon shine exhibit, lots of photos, a collection of pen knifes, belt buckles and Linda's doll collection for any woman who is bored. There is a lot to see here. The second room holds around 20 cars that are constantly changing. The last car he raced in is there, along with some fun things like a golf cart and dodgem with his number on. There is a also a more informative history about Lee, Richard, Kyle and Adam. There is plenty of parking, toilets and a small shop. We are waiting to get our signed poster card in the mail. Loved this. We bought some clothing but as it is black it would be hard to sign so we chose to get the picture signed and for a fee they will mail it to you. The museum was staffed by two very nice ladies and took around an hour or so. In time it will expand and you will also be able to visit Richard's childhood house.

If you are a NASCAR fan, you owe it to yourself to visit the Richard Petty Museum! Not only is there examples of most of Richard's winning cars through the years, but also every single trophy and award he ever won, uniforms, helmets, tons of photos & paintings, as well as one of the most intense historic "first-run" firearm collections I have EVER seen! And to top it all off, there's a very good chance the KING himself will stroll in while you're there!Every one who only knows of NASCAR what they see today, should fall on their face and kiss the feet of the KING, for HE made it all possible!

Since I was in the area and being a Richard Petty fan I had to go to where it started. Nice little museum with a lot of great Petty history. I would recommend visiting this museum if your in the area.

Weather your a fan of NASCAR or not this is one interesting museum. I am a big NASCAR fan so just being around the legends cars and personal effects is a thrill. This museum isn't just about cars, it's about the man and his family. Yes there's all sorts of racing Memoribilia scattered about, but there's more, so much more to see. There's guns, belt buckles, leather jackets, dolls, die cast, you name it, it's there. This museum is a must see stop over. Stop and spend and hour or two and take in all that's Richard Petty, The King. One side note. Make sure you buy something in there store. Depending in what you buy, Ole King Richard will autograph it for you. You may have to leave it for him to sign, but they will ship it to you once it's been signed. By the way, you must pay the postage but that's a small price to pay for getting the kings autograph. Next time I'm in the area I'll be sure to stop by again.

Took me years to get there, and want to go back. Huge collections of racing and personal items. Don't be in a hurry, there's plenty to see.

I am not a race fan any longer. Years ago when drivers like Richard Petty, Neil Bonnet were racing I loved it!! I have always been a Richard fan and the Museum is amazing. You have some of the cars he drove, so many awards and a gun collection you wouldn't believe. Pictures of him with singers, movie stars. His wife has a doll collection..so much more than just racing stuff. But a tribute to a good man who worked his way up and became a legend. A great one day trip.I highly recommend it.
