This course was really fun. It was in great shape the par 3 's were cool. The staff was very friendly the food was great. Overall the course was challenging. We really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to playing here again

This is a great layout which is well-maintained. Player friendly. Recommend you play sister course across the street, Mid Pines, first, to truly appreciate the meaning of this term. Great golf packages.

Pine Needles is a very well maintained, mid-level challenge, course. Grooming of greens and fairways is superb, all staff are courteous and helpful, and the practice areas are excellent. I play this course 1 to 3 times every year, and always find it in great shape.On course and dining room food services are superb.We have always stayed across the street at Mid Pines Inn, so cannot comment on the rooms or room service.

If you are traveling to pinehurst for golf and looking for a course outside the Pinehurst courses put this high on the list. Home of two Women us open's for a reason - this is a very great track. Tip play after two pm and they usually let you play as many holes as you want. The clubhouse and dining is a must see throw back in time.

Pine Needles has hosted the LPGA. They have fantastic packages that are reasonable and includes meals and all the golf you want. I would go there even if I did not play golf, Love Peggy Kirk Bell and her daughter.

We played Pine Needles and Mid Pines which are owned by the same people. The courses are very similar. I loved the greens. It was like shooting darts - your ball would stick. Great time.

Pine Needles was in excellent shape! Fairways, greens etc. Beautiful as well. Wish they had GPS in carts however to help one figure out exact distances to traps etc.

Pine Needles is a very nice track to play. We took a large group out to play the course. They also serve up a great breakfast in their clubhouse.

Donald Ross traditional course. Not as visually stunning as it's sister course, Mid Pines, but challenging long course that is beautifully maintained. Greens are a real challenge, as you would expect from a Ross design. Lots of trouble to avoid! Scored allot higher than I wished, but the course beckons me back tomorrow to see if I can shave a few shots!

I have played close to 250 courses around the country and Pine Needles ranks in my top 10. From the amazing grand looking clubhouse rooms to the bar area to the course itself this is really a top notch facility that will give any course at the Pinehurst Resort a run for their money. The course was in fantastic condition from tees to fairway to perfectly rolling greens. This was the first course we played in a six stop trip in the area and it was one of if not the best. High grades for Pine Needles for everything it takes to be a great golf facility.

Site of past LPGA Opens, this is a beautiful and challenging course. When we played (May 20, 2014), the course was in excellent shape. To score well you need to avoid the many deep traps that protect the greens and then putt well on the crowned green which were lighting fast.The inn is very nice and the folks (starter, etc.) are genuinely friendly.

We really enjoyed playing Pine Needles, my wife appreciates it when a golf course takes into account what is best and appropriate for a female golfer.They provide ball washers at the forward tees, they provide a forward tee that reduces distance but not interfere with the integrity of the course.This provides for a great experience.And of course I still found it challenging and fun.We highly recommend this course, especially for couples

Pine Needles, long known for Mrs. Peggy Kirk Bell, her fantastic golf school and amazing course. Few in the game are respected as Mrs. Bell. and her gold course speaks for itself. Now it seems PN has made a major upgrade within the clubhouse, to their dining experience and kitchen staff. They've acquired the skills of Chef Peter Hamm, formerly of Southern Prime Steakhouse in Southern Pines, and he has completely overhauled the P. Needles Club House Cucina. WOW!!! The difference is just fabulous throughout. Great job Pine Needles, great work by Chef Hamm to bring the culinary experience up to par with the famed course that has held 3 Women's US Opens in recent years. Kudo's to you all for the fine effort and great results. We will be returning very soon.

It's obvious why this course is so highly regarded. The landscape is gorgeous. The course is in beautiful shape. The service is fantastic. Just an absolute pleasure to play a round of golf here.

Setting is gorgeous, food is great. The womens open has been played here. Located in southern Pines and downtown southern Pines is wonderful! Great restaurants, and very active town. Great little theater that plays independent films and has live productions and they have a wonderufl concert series both classical and others.
