We have gone to Daveste for years now & enjoy it every time! The new shelter really improved the atmosphere of the whole place! It's always fun to sit & listen to the music while enjoying a great bottle of wine. Their Halloween parties are great too!
This is a nice, small winery near Charlotte/Lake Norman. The wines are OK, and are not overlypricey. None are very sweet, but the winery is pretty enough for anyone to enjoy a visit.
solid winery for the area. close proximity to charlotte. would come back here again. the wine was so-so but the atmosphere and the landscaping were great.
Their wines are fantastic, whether whites or reds! They are priced reasonably & the staff is always friendly. If you haven't attended one of their music outings, you are missing a special time!
This winery is a hidden gem, with good wines, located in the little town of Troutman NC. You can stop in for Thirsty Thursdays and catch some music, or bring a picnic and hear the Lake Norman Symphony. They have other events as well. Stop in, you won't be disappointed.
This place was nice, in a good setting. The wines were a little more dry then I like them, but they weren't too bad. The people were also very nice and friendly. Bought a bottle, got some corks, and took home the glasses.
On a recent visit to the Statesville, NC, area, we wanted to do a little wine tasting and enjoy a family afternoon. The Daveste Vineyard is located on a beautiful property, and although we were there on a rainy day, we know we will return to take advantage of their surroundings: picnic tables under trees in the fields, shaded picnic area near the main winery building, tented area with fireplace, lovely front and side porches with rocking chairs; waterfall and stream. After tasting their various wine offerings, we chose a bottle and headed for the rockers on the front porch. We had a fantastic afternoon visiting with family we do not see often enough. Daveste Vineyard offers many enjoyable wines and, although they were busy most of the time we were there, no one hurried us...we were allowed to visit and chat and sip and enjoy.
Our first time there this past Saturday. What a nice winery. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The wine was excellent.A bit pricey, though. Very nice outdoor setting.Covered seating areas and picnic tables.Nice grounds, clean and well kept.Very relaxing atmosphere. Will definately go back.
My husband and I come here often to share a bottle of wine. There is a great inside with some tables and fireplace and a great outdoors area. No matter what season Devaste' is a great trip. Their wine is great and they have won many awards. The service is great and they are very knowledgeable and friendly. We take people there and they always have a great experience.
My family and I went here over the holiday break and found it very education and charming. While it may not be as large as other vineyards what it lacks in size it makes up for in charm. Would definitely recommend this as a "go to" place for your family as even the kids can find things to intrigue them here. Staff is very accomidating and this is well worth your time in visiting especially when they have live entertainment as well. One of the best attractions in Iredell County for spouse and even the entire family as far as a learning experience. Met the owners briefly and they are very courteous as well.
Stopped in for some wine and live music . Very nice little place with everyone having a great time.Well worth a visit on a Saturday when they have musical entertainment.
I was looking for something to do on my way back from an appointment in Statesville, NC and found this on the internet. There was a range of opinions and wanted to see for myself. I was greeted warmly at the tasting room; I was the only one there because it was in the middle of a weekday. It impressed me that a lonesome stranger could feel at home so readily. I am a red wine person and so I was offered samples of what she happened to have open. They were both pleasant with enough personality to make the trip worthwhile. The 2008 Merlot is sold out but I am willing to take the drive again to experience more of their offerings. Regardless of whether or not one considers their wines to be superlative, it is the opportunity to imbibe someone's dream that was most significant to me.
You can tell the owners take much pride in what they have created here. The buildings and scenery are beautiful, and the wine is crafted with care and attention to detail. On Thursday evenings they have live music outside under their large picnic shelter. (music is not year round so check their website for the schedule) You can bring your own cheeses and snacks to go with their wine selection. It's just a nice little place to sip on some vino, listen to music, enjoy the great NC weather, and stare into the eyes of that someone special!
We have enjoyed many fun afternoons at this hidden gem. Daveste offers a beautiful locale, great live local music and a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Nice wines, nice locale, nice people. You could call it....NICE!
Friendly. Decent Wines, and right here at the Lake! I expect that there offerings will only improve with time!
