Librarians are very enthusiastic and helpful. The genealogy center is wonderful. It's also a beautiful building with lovely stained glass windows.

If you are a fan of architecture well worth a walk through and don't miss the large fountain at the back of the building. Check out the summer music programs at the fountain to take out of town guests or recommend to tourists. Kitty corner to the library is a newer building in a similar style, that's the place to go if you are researching past family members in the area, the Willennar Genealogy Center. The Genealogy Center is open Hours: Tuesday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Wednesday 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday - Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The Center also has regular programs to attend if you are interested in those, you can check the website at http://www.epl.lib.in.us/genealogy.php

This craftsman style building is outstanding! Lots of stained glass windows, craftsman furnishings and tiled roof make this very special. We were lucky the week we visited that a Texas artist- Margaret Kessler- had a show of paintings and quilts in the upstairs room. (don't know how often this happens) Beautiful works of art in a beautiful building!

If you are traveling through Auburn to go see the museums, be sure to stop by and see this historic building. The original structure was built beyond the standards of the typical 1930s library. Be sure to check out the fireplace in the main reading room and also view the stained glass windows on the second floor.
