The wine from here is very good. I personally like semi-sweet & sweet wines & for being a small winery they have a great selection. They also offer several fruit wines, the blueberry & raspberry were great! They do charge a $3 tasting fee, I don't mind because I have paid as much as $12 for a tasting before at a winery. The owner, I believe his name is Jim was very nice & knowledgeable. My only suggestion for the owners would be to wave the fee if you purchase a bottle.
Oh my goodness, the Butler Winery was truly phenomenal. The guys were informative and entertaining. There was the perfect wine rack that called out to me so I took it home along with several bottles of wine.
This is a pretty winery and it has a nice gift shop. The wines we didn't really care for. We only really liked the vineyard white , rose, and red. They do charge a small fee for their tastings.
The wine here is great. The lovely lady who does the wine tastings is very pleasant and welcoming and the prices of the wine are perfect. This place is much better than Oliver Winery and it is so much quieter to enjoy a bottle of wine outside.
This winery and it's vineyards are "off the beaten path". This is indeed a positive as it feels like a mini-vacation to head there. The tasting building is lovely and large! Staff are very helpful and wine knowledgeable. Nice selection of wine themed souvenirs and gift items in their store area. Reasonable tasting fee which they are entirely fine with you splitting, if a couple. Purchased a "skinny botttle" of a blend called "Twice" created because of drought conditions , a perfect example of coming up with a solution with less than ideal circumstances. "Twice" is a blend of Vignoles and Traminette and is one of the best wines we have had, anywhere. Combine a visit here with Oliver Winery and dine in Bloomington at one of their many amazing eateries for a nice day away from home.
This is the main winery, with a tasting room, nice covered deck, and very friendly staff. It is in a quaint little town just outside of Bloomington. A must visit for those traveling through or even if you are on a weekend trip. Their wines are outstanding.
We tried Butler wine a year ago at a different location. We were in Bloomington and decided to try the tasting room there. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable with the wine on hand. The wine is great for the value! You can also find the Butler wines at many grocery stores but this tends to be the sweeter wines.
Off the southwest corner of beautiful Lake Lemon lies this small family Winery. Wonderful tasting room as well as nice spacious covered outdoor deck. We particularly enjoyed the Riesling inspired Special Reserve White. Very relaxing vibe here-out in the middle of nowhere. Highly recommended!
Not bad. I'm more of a fan of sweet wines and theirs seem to be more dry. Easy to find. Friendly staff.
The wine is fabulous whether you like the dry or sweet or in-between. Customer service is fantastic and the scenery unbeatable! You must visit the Robinson Rd location and take it all in!
This is just a little bit off the beaten path. For anyone who has been to Oliver and was frustrated with the crowds then a visit to Butler is definitely needed. It is quiet and usually not too busy and the grounds are beautiful. I especially love the covered patio for a nice picnic with a glass of wine. And whenever we go there it is always a difficult choice of which wine to choose because I like them all!
The wine we had was okay, but nothing special. The deck is nice, with a view of the vineyard. If you're looking for wine in Bloomington, I would recommend Oliver Winery over Butler.
I wrote this review on yelp but Butler blocked it. I ordered a brew kit online and after two weeks they had not put in the order. When they finally did, it couldn't be delivered by Christmas so I had to drive and pick it up. It was incomplete so I had to wait to get the rest of the kit. When I called to have them send it to me they sent it to the wrong address after giving me a lot of attitude and excuses. Still not being able to fully use the kit I called and asked for a partial refund for all my trouble. Susie promised me half my costs after much arguing and then sent Mr a snarky letter with no refund.
Located in a small building among the picturesque vineyard, this winery is located on a back winding road. Tasting is free here. Product is a good one.
This is one place that will make you fill at home. Come see the real deal on Robertson rd. They have great wines and are very friendly. Music on some days on the porch. A must see for those looking for something to Wine down you day.
