Thanks for stopping by. Our first batch of Blueberry Eau De Vie sold out very quickly. Next batch is in the works!
Got to visit with the owner, learn about Mead, and tasted some excellent varieties - a most pleasant visit! A little gem in Iron River, Wi

Thanks for stopping and the great review!
During our Staycation in Bayfield County, we visited Iron River and the White Winter Winery. There is a small coffee house inside, along with a small gift shop and tasting bar. Nice building - easy to find in this small town. White Winter specializes in Mead wines - honey based. Fans of the Tudors or Game of Thrones would appreciate the honey connection. A bit different on the tongue - but enjoyably light. Think summer. Three free samples - the entire mix for $5.00. For $5.00 you also get to keep your glass. The server was wonderful - very friendly. Wish there was a bit more in the gift shop, and the Wine is unique.... But a different for those used to drinking wine from grapes it could be a bit off putting. Still suggested as a stop - nice excursion in Bayfield County!
White Winter Winery is an awesome spot to pick up my favorite local mead. However, even more exciting is starting this winter, they now serve coffee and specialty coffee drinks. Finally, a spot to get great coffee in Iron River! Plus, they open at 6 am during the week so I can hit them up before I leave for work. Serving up a variety of local coffee's plus their own signature line of Plain Jane coffee. Same spot as where you can taste test mead. The perfect combination!
Nice facilities, inside and out. Customers are limited to 3 wine taste choices, but I know we had more. Very nice wines, with nice selection, most of the choices are on the sweet side.,
Stopped here while traveling thru on highway 2. Nice little place. You get to sample their wine and if you like purchase some wine they produce. If it nice outside their entry has some tables and I saw several people enjoying a lunch and reading a book. They bottle several types of mead based wine.
We've stopped here twice in the last two years and have enjoyed both stops. For $5 you can do a tasting of all the open bottles at the bar. They usually have 10 open. It's a good deal. My husband and I were in Napa and Sonoma in March and their wine tasting are much more expensive ($20-25 and you only got 5 tastes) and you don't get to keep the glass.I love the education you received from the employees. The first time we were there a very well informed man walked us through all the meads and ciders available and how they differ from wines. This time the person working had only been on staff for a couple of weeks but she did have back up available for our harder questions. I noticed this year that they are carrying some local jewelry, very Wisconsiny type stuff, cute to boot. If you had the time check it out, totally worth it.
We always visit near the holidays to pick some local meads as gifts for family members. We're always greeted by friendly staff and get to sample several meads.
You pay $5, get all the bottles that have been opened (around 10 or so), and get to keep the wine glass! They give you a form to make notes on how you liked each offering, which really helped you make your choices.
