Great Northwoods Show. The young lumberjacks entertain you as they compete in power sawing, pole climbing, canoe jousts, axe throwing, and boom run competitions (plus some). They even let the little ones in the audience participate in a cross-cut sawing adventure. I initially thought I'd be bored at yet another child-orientated show, but was thrilled with their performances and skills. I've taken two sets of grand nephews and can't wait to get my other grand kids up there soon. It's a thrill of a lifetime with the little ones. At the end of the show, the lumberjacks come out and autograph the sawed wood for the little ones. It's a great family-fun time from toddlers to teens.
We had our 10 year old granddaughter with us and I remembered taking her mother to this show 25 years ago. She enjoyed it as much as her mother did then . It moves quickly and kept her attention, she related to the lumberjacks and enjoyed cheering them on. She got pieces of wood autographed. A nice way to spend a summer evening.
Some old-style schlock with a little education. Great for kids, who get involved in show. About a 90 minute affair and a little pricey, but it is one of those "do it once" type of events when you're vacationing in the Northwoods.
Our trip to the Minocqua, WI area is never quite complete without a visit to the Lumberjack show. We have done it for years, since the kids were quite young, and yet none of us seem to tire of it. The skill of the lumberjacks is phenomenal and we love the friendly competition and funny jokes. Encourage your kids to raise their hands when they ask for volunteers!
This show is as enjoyable today as it was 30 years ago. Good clean fun that will keep old and young laughing at the corny jokes. Our show lasted about an hour and a half. Get there a little early to get a good seat and place to park.
Great comedy family show, demonstrates and explains how certain techniques and tools are used in the wilderness back in the day and still to this day. The comedy is good and it's great fun. A bit on the expensive side, however it's worth the expense to go to at least once.
CostIt cost our family of 2 adults and 3 children $48. Pretty expensive one hour show, but fun to have done! Rain or shineThankfully there is some covered seating provided, but get there early if you must secure them due to weather. Rain or shine....and they are not kidding! We had lightning and thunder during our last portion. They were kind enough to offer rain checks if you weren't comfortable with the weather elements. Seating Bleacher style seating, first come-first serve. Get close seats if able. Kids can participate during intermission. They practice using a cross saw. At the end of the show, you can also be first to run and get pieces cut off logs during the show. The lumberjacks will sign their autographs. There were restrooms and concessions. I did not use either services. Overall, great adult humor that was safe and hilarious for the whole family.
Great place for the whole family. I have been here several times in my life and have enjoyed the show each time. I still have some tree slices in my kitchen that I use as hotplates that we got there.
