I have been there several times. Once for a WW2 reenactment. Great location With plenty of roon. However I was disappointed with the museum. Wonderful collection on military items but very ltitle on the Pennsylvania unit. Thought that is why it is called the PA Military Museum.

It was a great sunny July day so we were able to take in all of the exhibits at a nice slow pace. What this place needs is an F 16. Or an A 10 but for what it is which in my opinion is the flip side of glorifying conflict and death...its not obnoxious or in your face

Even though the actual museum is on the small side-they need to update their 21st century conflicts-they are rich in sponsored activities throughout the year. We stumbled across their military timeline and the re-enactors were true to form. Take the time to walk through the 28th inf regiment shrine. It was thoughtfully laid out to reflect and appreciate.

We spend a very nice afternoon at this museum. It was a great experience. It is a smaller military museum, but they have a good collection, and a lot of detailed information, including ties to Pennsylvania. The staff was very nice and friendly, and the prices very reasonable. The museum is laid out in an easy to follow pattern, starting with WW I information. Everything they have is in incredible condition. We found it very interesting and well worth the stop. The grounds are lovely as well. Would be a great place for a picnic or a nice walk while paying respects to the shrines and monuments located outside. if you have the chance, don't miss it. It is a local gem.

Nicely arranged and presented collection of artifacts and memorabilia documenting more than 2 centuries of PA military history.

If you are a serious Army buff, then you will want to stop by here. The Pennsylvania Military Museum in Boalsburg is not a large building, but it is well laid out and organized. What military equipment that they have is in near mint condition, including rifles, automatic weapons, howitzers, mortars and some old canons. They have some light armor vehicles and some tanks, including a WWII Sherman. They have some nice WWII Jeeps. What interested me was the equipment that my grandfather would have used as an Army medic when he served in the 28th Division in WW1. I was not disappointed as they display a Studebaker Horse drawn carriage, and a GM motorized ambulance from 1917.The grounds of the museum are spacious and they are several paved walking trails (with some military equipment on display outside). We took a nice stroll around the grounds with our dog, who we had brought along. Many of the local folks from the town of Boalsburg use the paths to walk their dogs and to jog on.Take Aways.. The Museum is about 1/4 mile from the Expressway, on Business 322 (Boal Avenue.) Boalsburg is a lovely little town worth exploring. There is a coffee Shop right across the street from the side entrance to the grounds.

My husband and I stumbled into this museum on a very snowy day in February. We were some of the few people there and had a very personalized tour from a thorough and knowledgeable guide, included in the price of our tickets. The staff were friendly and the displays were well done.

This place had a great indoor museum with interesting military artifacts and beautiful surrounding grounds with very nice displays. I would definitely go back when in the area. Plan on spending about hour. Only a ten minute drive from Penn State University Campus.

This museum is a wealth of information on the PA Military. I especially enjoy the many programs given throughout the year. World War II, Vietnam reenactments, plus History Through the Ages, Lectures, Civil War encampments

Needing to kill some time before an evening wedding, we decided to go to the museum. Let me start by saying the grounds are absolutely beautiful. The exhibits were interesting. There were tanks and humvees and tents set up nearing the parking lot and service people available to discuss and explain the equipment. For someone interested in military history, this is a nice place to visit.

We took our gradndaughters here and were a bit dismayed at the entry fee. $5.50 for seniors (us) and $4 for our 4 & 6 year olds. They were quickly bored, as although there were some good exhibits they had been displayed in a fairly dull format. Not enough to justify the price. But outside - that is another story! The girls loved being able to examine and climb over the guns, tanks etc that were on display, and we found them interesting, too. Lovely walks around the park with various memorials. We were particularly interested in the wall plaques for the WW1 dead as it is a subject dear to us.

Worth a look if you are interested in military history. Too bad there aren't more artifacts. The ones on exhibit are well maintained, but it does not take long to see everything.

This place is surprisingly interesting, especially if, like me, you are interested in history but never studied a whole lot of military history. There is a lot more here, and it's a lot better presented, than what you expect of a small-town museum. I live nearby and enjoy taking out-of-town guests.

Lots of really good displays here from numerous wars. Nice gift shop too. See the actual guns from the Pennsylvania outside. Wonderful walking area.
