Wdedrive up twice a year from Virginia to purchase our six months supply of meat from Hummers Meats. Usually pick up a couple of weeks supply of fresh veggies as well. Fantastic place and well worth the visit.

We lingered at the food area which we really liked. It had a bit everything and we loved the jams and fudges (sinful!).

Make sure you leave your self some time to enjoy this place. The quality of meats and cheeses is off the hook. They have great food products that I have not seen since my granmother made them. You can spend several hours here. I recomend you eat before you arrive or your going to buy everything you see.

We love the Bird in Hand Farmer's Market! We love the butchers (only bought ring bologna this time), the bakeries (pretzels and whoopie pies), loose tea vendors, and all of the assorted other items at the market. It's as good as it ever was. It's probably been 10+ years since we've been there, but I felt right at home. Not much has changed - thankfully!

The all in doors Farmer's Market in Bird-In-Hand, PA is just a fun place to visit. There are a wide variety of venders, from Kitchen Kettle Jams and Jelly's with lots of sampling happening, to candy, and fresh meat markets, there is food for all palates. Get pretzel wrapped hotdogs, or try samples at each of the venders and sample your way through the market. Downstairs, the best prices for quality Tee Shirts in the area. There is much to do and see at Bird-In-Hand Market, but be prepared, they are open only Friday and Saturday during the winter and Wednesday through Saturday from June to October. Check the days to be sure they are opened. The anchor stores, not part of the Market per se, are open year round 6 days a week. Make Bird-In-Hand Market a place to visit on your next trip to Amish Country.

OK, you internet using "outsider english", If you are looking for an totally Amish experience, you should be going to a farm stand on the backroads, not this mix of shoppes with bus parking right on Route 340. That being said, this farmers market is still one of our favorites. Why? It has great quality, locally grown meats, poultry, produce, bake goods and other local specialty foodstuffs. Add to that kitschy souvenir t-shirts and other "keepsakes" and you have a one stop shop for all your Lancaster touristy needs. When the tour buses roll in, this place gets hopping! If you are looking for a quick stop to get some great PA Dutch goodies, Bird in Hand Farmers Market should be on your list. If you want to learn about and interact with the quaint Amish people, head off the main road and cruise some lovely Lancaster farmland. Make sure you bring the GPS so you can get back!

When heading to Lancaster, this is a must stop-by market. Their homemade food is always delicious. The Hot Pretzels are so yummy. Always get tubs of popcorn from the popcorn stand. So many varieties to pick from and enjoy. Meats are always good especially the beef jerky. My grandchildren love the wooden toys from the toy stand. Also, the gift shop downstairs has a lot of Amish items you can't find in other stores. This is usually our first stop before going to the Outlets in Lancaster. Can't wait to go back.

Stopped by at this roadside attraction for pretzels and great candy - found both and am really impressed. Great fun circling through the market seeing food, drink and wares. Enjoy your time!

It's a market of apparently local business owners operating sections with an emphasis on both local(mostly food) goods and goods and things to appeal to tourists. It's a tourist attraction that people always make a stop at. But it's not a farmers market. Important: There's a bathroom out back open only when this market is open, otherwise there's one freely available in the Bird In Hand Family Inn restaurant

The Bird in Hand market is a wonderful little market, full of PA Dutch charm and products. There are locally made quilted items of great quality such as quilts, placemats, and centerpieces; lots of jams and jellies; homemade soft pretzels; fresh apple cider; baked goods such as pies and cookies; fudge and chocolates. One of our favorite places is the S. Clyde Weaver stand, which sells wonderful meat, tasty beef sticks and cheeses--we would highly recommend the Amish butter cheese--a mild, buttery creamy cheese. This stand also sells cinnamon and honey pretzel grahams along with black raspberry spread and caramel spread, which are so yummy, you may just eat the whole tub! Don't leave the market without some!

We have always enjoyed our stay in the Lancaster county's Amish area. Quaint small towns, beautiful country side, pleasant people and the Amish atmosphere. Great Amish style cooking and the crafts are among the best because most of it is made locally. The Fall colors and rolling hills makes for a very pleasant stay. Plenty of motels and Bed & Breakfast places to pick from.
