Thanks for the kind words! We do indeed have a large variety of beers on tap here at any given time. We average 14 to 16 beers with three being our flagships and the remainder drawn from our brewer's repertoire of over 1000 recipes. Make sure to stop back during warmer weather and check out our beer garden!
Sorry that we didn't meet your expectations! We have purposely kept the tap room simple and clean so that we can focus on the beer. No TV's, no jukebox, and no kitchen helps to ensure that we can talk about our beers, farm and philosophy with patrons who are interested. We realize that this isn't for everyone, and I was glad to see in your reviews of TC locations that you were able to find what you were looking for at other establishments. That's one of the awesome things about the craft beer scene here in Northern Michigan - We've got lots of venues and loads of variety! Thanks for taking the time to write a review.
Thanks for the suggestion! Sorry to hear you had difficulty locating us at night. Since we're in a residential area, we've tried to keep lighting to a minimum. We're looking at ways to improve visibility on our sign and hope to brighten it up a bit soon. Stop back in next time you're in town and ask about our 3-ounce samplers - They're a great way to taste your way around the menu without over-committing on your consumption! Thanks for taking the time to write a review!
Thanks for your kind words and for taking time to write a review! Happy to hear that we've been able to provide good service and products over multiple visits. Our staff works hard to stay informed and they enjoy sharing what they know. We release a new beer every two weeks on average, many of which are quite unique, so they've got their work cut out for them!
Thanks for your kind words! Glad you liked the herb beer (we call it Scarborough Fair for its parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme). It's just one in a series of spice and herb beers we've brewed including the Little Italy Honey Basil Ale and our Tai Chi Seven Spice Stout, which is a light bodied stout infused with a Szechuan-inspired blend of spices from Taiwan and China.
Glad to hear that something good came from your traffic woes! I'm also pleased to hear that you found the service to be as good as the beer - We do like to share what we know about beer, including all the other great breweries in our area. Local zoning ordinances prevent us from serving food, but we do encourage folks to bring food in with them, and many do. You can order in a pizza, grab takeout from one of our fabulous local restaurants, or bring a picnic from home. Stop by and have lunch or dinner with us next time you're in town, and thanks for taking the time to write a review!
Thanks for taking the time to write a review! Sorry to hear that you had trouble locating us at night. The brewery is located in a mixed residential/agricultural area, so we don't have the usual mass of floodlights in our parking lot, or even a lighted sign for that matter. While it does reduce our visibility, we feel it's a worthwhile trade-off for us to be able to operate as we dreamed, which is as a brewery and a farm. We're on 10 acres here, and we grow some of the ingredients, primarily flavorings, here on the farm. We designed our building to blend in with the surrounding countryside, to fit in with both the residential and agricultural aspects, and it sounds like we succeeded. Maybe we did a little too good of a job of blending in... ;)
Off the beaten path, this micro brew is worth the hunt. Great selections of brews and snacks to go along with them. Try a flight of eight and find your favorite. Pretty sterile interior with outdoor seating in a rural farm atmosphere. Needs some shade and landscaping on the patio. Friendly and knowledgable staff. If you like beer add this to your TC brew-house list.
Our first stop in traverse city. Nice place. Very friendly and knowledgable service. Loved the three ounce pours for a dollar. We had eleven samples and enjoyed them all.
My husband and I were visiting the traverse city area from toledo. We had a chance to visit 5 breweries. Aside from Shorts, this was by far the best beer and best value. We tried 8 of the 15 Brews on tap that day. Literally loved them all. We ended up buying a howler of one to take back to toledo. Love the fresh urban feel and friendly staff. We were not at all impressed by North Peak brewing (I will save my thoughts on that for a separate review) and this place was the polar opposite.
Like most breweries they have a wide selection of beer to try. I recommend samples to taste many of them. They have many unique options of beers. They also sell Michigan chocolate which was really good. The beer guy even recommended a particular beer to drink with the chocolate which was nice. This place is off the beaten path in a residential area, but don't let that deter you. They are a very friendly place with a lot of great beers. They even grow some of their own ingredients which is awesome.
Great brew Pub. Love all the art work on the walls. Great beer and food. It's sort of tucked away but worth the time to find.
If you are in the Traverse City area, do yourself a favor and stop here!! I got the honey beer which was delicious and my friends got flights. All of the beers we tried were great!! The flights are nearly full size glasses. You most definitely get your moneys worth here. It's kind of tucked away but worth it!!
First off, I love that this is listed as an "attraction"! I say it is a must visit for anyone interested in the TC brewery scene. For a relatively young brewery (even with an apparently seasoned Brewmaster), this place has 16 beers on tap. Furthermore, these are not American Lagers (aka beer flavored water). They have some amazing left field brews, such as the chocolate mint stout and the Tai Chi spiced stout, and some more traditional styles that they do amazingly well (like the brown and Scotch ale). I could go on, but i really just suggest you visit. And with $1 3 oz glasses, you can try a lot of beer!
This brewery is south of downtown and it's not the easiest place to find, but once you're there it's well worth sampling their many unique beers. The actual brewery is a stand-alone building that feels more like the inside of a brand-new commercial building than it does a brewery. Not the typical vibe you get in most breweries, but this isn't your typical brewery. Very laid-back and somewhat quiet atmosphere (at least when I was there). They don't have a kitchen here, so look elsewhere if you'd like a brew and burger. I wouldn't spend all day here, but well worth the visit!
