Cool tasting room and some nice wines. Love to swing by when they have events as they really take advantage of their space. Love being able to grab a bottle and enjoy it outside on their patio. Just wish there was more parking and more elbow room at the tasting bar. Best to come on a weekday or the off season.
We recently stopped by to taste wines. I was impressed at the number of wines. Liking drier wines, I particularly liked the chardonnay. Reds were also interesting. The staff made us feel like we were family and we spent quite some time talking with them. The apple jack is incredible as are the ciders. And that is coming from someone who doesn;t care much for them. Highly recommend it!
i highly recommend this winery for several reasons.....especially if you haven't been wine tasting before. First timers are feel welcome here. No intimidating stuffy pourers. The staff is friendly and helpful, explaining the selections. $2 for 5 samples. You feel at home here, and can wear your ball cap and sweatshirt without worry. They have many good wines, but my favorite is their ciders, especially raspberry or cranberry. They used to have friendly dogs that would roam around the tasting room, but was sad to hear that they are no longer allowed. Some of the wines are named after the dogs.
We participated in a macaroni and cheese wine tasting event on mission point. One of the stops and I would say one of my favorites was here. The drive way takes you through a vineyard and then to the tasting room. The parking can be tricky but no big deal. Once inside the tasting room there was a welcoming feeling that was warm and inviting. The tasting bar was long so there was plenty of room without feeling closed in. The staff was very warm, friendly and knowledgeable of the products. We were given 3 free tastings and were guided professionally through the wine list so as not to wast or time trying something that would not please our pallet. I tried a late harvest Riesling then a few of their flavored hard ciders. Each one was great. We decided that every trip to traverse city would include a stop here.
I can't even explain how much I love BHV! It's so relaxing to get a drink and walk around their beautiful vineyard. You can tell that the staff of Bower's genuinely love their jobs, and the people that come to visit them. We've been to one of their Dining in the Vines events and it was beyond fantastic!!! We have visited and tasted at every vineyard in and around Traverse City, and this is BY FAR the best, to us! Wonderful wines, and awesome ciders! Great service, hospitality, location, and atmosphere. I daydream about heading back to sit on their porch and drink some cider. Cheers!
My all time favorite! Wine and staff are amazing. I actually just got engaged there! The staff went above and beyond to make the day a dream come true.
Bowers Harbor is our favorite vineyard on Old Mission. Love the atmosphere and the beautiful setting. The wine it good too! Our friends enjoyed the hard cider. We were there during the MSU/UofM game and they had TV's outside for people to enjoy the game. Very accommodating and welcoming. Can't wait to go back!
We were able to use a coupon from our hotel for this place. Loved the wine. There are a few things you can purchase to eat if you like. There is a fire pit you sit down next to and enjoy the scene.
We spent a rainy day at the Vineyard wine tasting. The wine was really good and the staff were very helpful, and we bought some nice merchandise from the store (glasses, wine bottles and wine rack). The cherry salsa was also very good. We were sad to hear that the Vineyard dog, Brix, was moved to a property a mile away due to regulation purposes. The area surrounding the Vineyard is also very beautiful for sight-seeing. Great for a day out if staying in the Traverse City area!
Stopped here on a rainy Saturday and had a great experience and stayed dry and warm. There is a nice bar inside for tasting and even some college football watching. There was an outside area equipped with two bonfire patio heaters to keep everyone warm on a cold wet day.Staff is very friendly and welcoming. There are a fair amount of reds and whites to try, however this is the only winery I've been to with multiple cider to taste as well. I really enjoyed the 2012 Pinot Noir, Nicholas.
I have been to Traverse City to visit my brother three times in the past two years and we go to Bowers Harbor Vineyard each time. Not only is it my favorite as a tourist, it's my brother's (and his girlfriend's) favorite as locals. The place is just beautiful, with a welcoming arbor and beautiful views of rolling hills, the bay, and the vines as you walk into the tasting room. The tasting room itself is built with natural materials, lots of wood and stone, and is open and airy, with the bar facing large windows that look out at that gorgeous view. The wines and the ciders are also fantastic. My favorite thing to do here is to sample wines with a tasting and then order a glass of cider to go sit outside (there are tables interspersed throughout the vineyard and on the patio out front) and wander through the vines. I LOVE IT HERE!So comfortable, welcoming, and just an overall enjoyable and memorable experience. A can't miss!
We went to the vineyard with family members who will be moving to Traverse City. We decided to try a cider flight with raspberry cherry and blueberry ciders. I've come to like cider quite a lot in the last year, but these "other" kinds of cider were amazing and the blueberry was very memorable. SO I would suggest by all means try their wines! But don't overlook the cider!
I love the atmosphere, people, wine....and you will too!! Our bachelorette party made a reservation and had a table all to ourselves on the back patio. The service was wonderful, the ice wine is fantastic and they have a good selection of tasty snacks. I cannot tell you how much we loved it, you have to see for yourself!! Thanks for the pictures!!!
We really enjoyed the experience and the ambiance of dining last night in the Langley Vineyard, inside a perfectly sized tent with propane heaters.Chef Jim Morse and his amazing staff prepared another memorable feast. We started with an amazing charcuterie of cheeses, homemade meats and crackers, olives and pickled asparagus, accompanied by a glass of the Langley 2896 Brut Rose. First Course: Pan seared scallop, parmesan risotto, english peas, saffron beurre blanc and a glass of Pinot Grigio.Second Course: Morel Bisque, white truffle oil with a glasses of Nicholas Pinot Noir and Cuvee Evan.Third and Fourth Courses: Kobe Filet Mignon and Lobster Tail over fingerling potatoes, parsnip puree bearnaise, and a glass of the Langley 2896 Brut Rose. Since we are both pescatarians, Chef Jim gave us two lobster tails.Dessert Course: Served in the tasting room-Old MIssion Apple Cobbler, apple pie ice cream. This is a must for you local bucket list. Thank you Connie, Kristy, Spencer, and Chef Jim for making this a great Date Night.Jim and LInda MunroKorner Kottage Bed & BreakfastSuttons Bay, MI
I love this place. The people and atmosphere are great. The "bleach" (peach and blueberry cider combined) is so good!
