The course is absolutely beautiful, and well maintained to say the least. The cart attendant grabbed our bags and helped us out before we could even ask or waive her down and had a big smile on her face to greet everyone, which we found very pleasant opposed to other courses we had visited in the area. Servers in the dining room appeared to treat customers like family. The clubhouse overall could use some up to date re-modeling, but this place is definitely worth paying a visit.

Dated dining room. At the Bar area the servers are wonderful and will bend over backward for patrons. The course is old, taken care of but now more like every public course out there. Some of the old glory can be seen in the course lay out. Worth the weekly daily rate.

Played Black River Country Club with two others. This was a private country club and is now a semi-private golf course. The course is 6,501-yards from the longest of the three sets of tees. It has a par of 71. Nine of the holes has or is next to water. The greens were in excellent condition. The fairways could use some help. It would not take much to have this course as excellent instead of very good. I did grab a burger in the restaurant and it was great. One of the best burgers in a long time.

Black river is a very nice well conditioned golf course . The food is great and the service wonderful.. pulled into the parking lot and an attendant unloaded our clubs and put them on carts for us and took them around to the pro shop..

The outdoor gardens were perfect for a family wedding. Adorable water feature and nice peaceful setting. Inside was a good size room offering nice views of the trees and river. Catering was good, service was attentive and every amenity available to have a celebration.

Nice track, lots of trees, not good if you hit a fade, greens were in great shape. Tee boxes average. Price was great.

Great course, well groomed and attentive staff. We were warmly greeted by Kevin who was helpful, pleasant, great sense of humor, nice and refreshing.Kevin is" one in a million" and should be commended for being such an outstanding employee. We can only hope that we will have the honor of seeing Kevin and speaking to Kevin again.Respectfully submitted,Donna J Ellis

Twenty years ago this was a nice place, but I think that was the last time it was worth a play. This is a 18 hole course that has 18 different green speeds and more clover than any course you will ever play. I have never played a course with more bad lies in the middle of a fairway than here. If you enjoy being punished for hitting good shots this is for you. The only good thing I have to say about this course is that the girls that work the snack bar and beverage cart are very nice people. The bartender in the club house never asked me if I would like anything at all and our group was sitting at the bar for twenty minutes after our round. It will take years and tons of money to bring this course into any sort of shape. My call to you would be that no matter what direction you come from you will pass a better golf course on the way here.

We attend a charity golf outing here every year at the end of summer, the staff never fails to manage to make things miserable. This year we had over 100 people golfing and they still let other groups play in the middle of us. It's a charity event! How about you do your part for one day out of the year and close the course down to the public and help support the cause. The family that puts this event together works very hard and to have BRGC drop the ball every year with their mediocre food and poor service really makes People not what to be there.

My wife and I always make it part of our US vacation. The course is always well groomed and great value at a low, low price!

Black River used to be a private club. Black River was considered one of better courses in Michigan. Since becoming public in the 90's the course has fallen on hard economic times and is showing this in the condition of the course. There used to be a dress code at the couse you had to at least have a collar on your shirt, but this aparently is not enforced anymore. When you only charge $20 for golf this is what you get. While the course as a whole is not bad there are some problems. No# 3,13 and16 greens are challenging, but a bit unfair as they are slinding off the hill and need to be replaced or repaired. The problem is there are only one of two possible pin postions at the top of the greens where the ball actually has a chance to stay on the green without rolling back down hill and off the green. The pine tree on no# 16 needs to be trimmed or taken down it is located on the right side next to the green. This tree is huge and if you get anywhere near it you have to take an unplayable. In the fall or anytime there are leaves or seedlings falling onto the greens the grounds crew seems to ignor this fact and does not keep the greens clear. I not just talking just a few leaves here, but I have seen the greens almost completely covered with them. It is like they did not even take the time to check them in the morning. Also what is with removing all the rakes from the bunkers with 3 or 4 weeks of golf remaining in the season ? Lazy ?

A great course, just minutes from the Canadian / US bridge in Port Huron. Excellent prices for cart and golf. The staff is very helpful and the food in the club room is reasonably priced and delicious.

Fantastic course and good food after. I've golfed here a few times as a family member is a member of the club. Prices are very reasonable and the club house is well appointed.

Our group of 16 enjoyed the course in mid July. We have played here occasionally for several years. It's our favourite in the Port Huron area. So pretty, a park-like setting. The course was in good shape. The staff was very friendly, esp. in the lounge where we had a great lunch that came with the golf. One of our group had never played Black River. She said she would go back "in a New York minute". Hopefully very soon. Can't wait to play there again.
