There is little in life that is different to me, but this place was the greatest. Yes you can go to the zoo, malls, beaches, swimming pools, petting zoo, but where can you suit up and go work an insect that will sting you (could kill you if not respected). This place is just a small farm that is family owned, but they try vey hard to keep everything clean and weed free, oh and well mowed, etc. The farm has a great feel when you pull up as it is surrounded by green trees and an old metal barn like you do not see many times in the daily grind.Tim the owner is very kind and welcomes you like one of the family and explains himself very well and likes things kept simple and I like this.My entire family went to his new beekeeping class and was only $40. Their bee yard is the cleanest, very nice layout with lots of thought and clean.Hope you enjoy this place in the Spring as much as we did.
Honey Hive Farms was a very clean place for a bee farm. They welcomed us with open arms and were very, very bee friendly. When we were there they were helping a Girl Scout troop get their badges for beekeeping. They took us out to the bee yard and let us use some of their bee suits as we don't have any yet. Honey Hive Farms owner, I believe his name was Tim, showed us in a couple of hives and spent more then 30 min going over what was going on in the bee hives. AAA+++The place is well groomed, mowed, no weeds in the parking lot and as nice as a farm could be in our opinion. Our family will go back several times in the future and we may even get into beekeeping and we know that Tim knows what he is doing so he is our go to guy. AA++++The drive from St. Louis is very pretty with nice roads, great for a day drive with the family. AA+They build their own products, boxes, etc and have like $200,000 in inventory and LOTS of honey that is supper great. We will only buy honey from Honey Hive Farms and eat a lot.No bathrooms as it is a shop/barn and they had a porta potty outside and it was clean. AAWe did not get stung by any bees, but there are several around the farm, it is so great to see them at work. You may want to call first to make sure they are there as they are pretty busy with the bees and all their customers, etc.Family owned business and very nice positive people. Thank you Honey Hive Farms and Tim.
