the blue note

Went there on February 15, 2014. We bought the tickets on line beforehand for The Ben Miller Band and Trampled Under Foot. They are a Blues/Rock music, Doors open at 6:30 pm and it is general Admission. It looks like it is an Opera House from an earlier time. The sound was awesome. There are seats on the lower floor, ( but there is an area that people are going to stand up in front of the stage ) the rest of the seating is at higher elevations, along with the upstairs, that over looks the entire Theatre. The drinks I ordered were a beer and a double mixed drink, at the price of $13.50. You can either go to 2 of there bars or, a Waitress does make her rounds. The bands quit playing around 10:15 pm, then it turned into Club 107, a DJ played for a college age crowd. We had an excellent time and will watch for the band listings on there website to go back again. www.bluenote.com

I have been to the Blue Note a few times. It's really a great place for start-up bands, local musicians, and known talent. The variety is awesome and there's something for everyone. In the summer they put on "street" concerts

Have been wanting to go there for years and happened onto Steve Vai who I had never heard of being there while I was going to be passing thru on business. Called from the road and got tickets which was easy to do plus they had multiple ways to get them electronically plus emailed conf. Just picked up at will call. Old place and large enough bar to handle crowd. Great time and love seeing this good of an act in a small venue. Awesome time and will be back. See Steve Vai anytime you can.

Has an wide variety of people who are booked at this location. Lots of "college" bands since this is a major university town. Also always some rock and roll Bret Michaels to Weird Al Jankovic.

I have a love/hate relationship with the Blue Note. They get great acts and the venue size is ideal. There's excellent beer on tap--for a reasonable price. Show prices are affordable. The building/stage/balcony areas have tons of character. Conversely, the sound is just too loud for most of the shows I've seen--so loud that the vocals are distorted. I always bring earplugs when my favorite artists visit, otherwise, my ears ring for three days. Another beef is the ladies' restroom upstairs. I can't speak for the men's, but the ladies' room is always an uncomfortable ordeal at the Blue Note. The stall doors' locks all always seem to be broken all the time, there are doors to the restroom that offer a clear view into the stalls if the doors slip open, and they have a hard time keeping towels in stock--they would be better off installing one of those air blades. In short, the restrooms upstairs need a remodel. I know visiting a venue is not about the bathrooms, but I've been to several comparable venues in other cities where these issues just were not a problem. I wish they could get it together on the bathrooms and the sound. I would definitely go see shows more often if it were a little more comfortable.

Just returned from attending Weird Al's concert at Blue Note. They set it up in the street in front of the Blue Note. Of course, Weird Al was fabulous and hilarious! We set up chairs in back of the roped off but the cigarette smoke was pretty strong and they set up the generator right there too. So it was kind of loud. Therefore we decided to head up front and stand. We stood on the sidewalk and had a great location except when tall guys would come and stand in front of us. But no biggie, we would all just reshuffle. Buying tickets online was easy and so was checking in at the concert. Parking was a little tough. We were surprised that none of the nearby businesses opened up their lots. We would have paid to park closer. But did find a spot on a nearby street.We got to the concert about 30 minutes early so we got good positions. But probably could have come a little later and still done well.

Went to the Blue Note to see Candlebox. Had a great time and the sound was perfect. The service was great, Millie made sure our drinks were perfect each time we ordered.

This is best place to experience a performance. It's intimate yet extravagant. The architecture is stunning and there's not a bad seat in the house. The character and restoration of building itself becomes a part of the performance and enhances the experience like no arena ever could. Every event is better at the Blue Note!

Not bad, I don't really know what else to say. Like most of the bars and restaurant in downtown, this is a nice place where you definitely can enjoy yourselves with friends.

The music they present is second to none in the Blues line up. Every chance I get I attend just to sit back and enjoy a great time with friends or family.

Great place for a concert...small enough that everyone gets an up close view. Old style building. Bathrooms need some updating and a couple added. Accomodates all ages

It's disgusting, the building's interior was once grand, now only in tatters and the floor sticks to your feet (not the other way around).

Great place to see a show. The sound was great. The drinks were not over priced. We got to the show early and got a table in the balcony which a waitress kept an eye on our drinks and always made sure to see if we wanted more. We had a good time and would come back.

Nice venue. Usually cheap tickets. Cold beers. What more do you want? Get there early and pick a spot by the bar...

We saw Pat Green here awhile ago and loved it - fun place! Small venue and very personable - the sound is awesome!
