I'm not a big fan of subdivision golf courses. But at The Oaks, they never really come into play. It's obvious they're spending some money on this course, because it's absolutely beautiful. The course is extremely spread out. I hate playing courses where the greens are 50 feet away from the next tee box. Not here. It's definitely a long course I do not want to walk. (of course, none of them are) Staff is very friendly and accommodating, as well as the club house. Can't wait to visit it again.
This is really a nice layout. the greens are the best I've played in this area by far. very nice club house and not a busy course. Rick in the clubhouse is great guy, he couldn't be more accomodating. I played the white tee's and it played tough. very interesting layout. I wouldn't miss this course when you are in the area. We had a frost delay this morning so I had a chance to meet the club manager and superintendent. They are very proud of how this course is shaping up and they should be.
The Oaks Golf Course is one of the most beautiful and well maintained golf courses on the gulf coast. The staff is friendly the rates are very reasonable, especially during the week. Junior golf clinics are offered several times throughout the year for children ages 4 through 14.
Course serpentines it's way through a small community. Very nice course. Some of the par 4's could be a long three and others could be a par 5. Par 3's are all a challenge. Hidden creek hazard on the 6th. Fairways are tight, but play well. Many of the greens are fast. Had some water issues lately, and a couple of holes had some soggy/muddy areas - but it wasn't the end of the world. Overall a nice course to play
We played the course twice while visiting the area. The staff were great. Our tee time reservation was not recorded but they fit us in with no fuss. The rental sets were good quality and they were able to accomodate the "Lefty" in our group. The prices are very reasonable (at least as far as someone from Toronto is concerned). The course and greens were in very good shape. The pace of play was also good.We will be back to play it again next year.
Lush, green, beautiful landscape, pro instructors, definitely the place to golf if that is your thing. A bit expensive, but the greens are worth it. Disappointed they felt the need to have Hooter's girls deliver, on the course, drinks..I think it took a very distinguished Golf Course to a lower level by introducing young, half-dressed women to the environment. It makes a gorgeous place seem desperate. But, for the course, again, is one of the best and most well landscaped. Simply beautiful grounds nestled in the country, but worth the trip. Maybe one day, they will envision themselves as a course far above the majority and get back the respect by ending their relationship with Hooter's.
Played there two times with wife and friends while on vacation in Biloxi. A challenging golf course that is excellently maintained. Very reasonably priced at $30/person. A true jewel. Our go to golf course while in Biloxi. Other similarly priced courses are all cow pastures in comparison.
This course is very challenging and beautifull. I have played it many times and the course has improved with age. Plus you have Hooter's girls driving the beer carts.
We have played at The Oaks for many years and had seen the greens go steadily "down hill" over the past years and we had decided not to play there this year. I did however contact the pro and he assured me that our group would enjoy coming back and playing this spring because the greens were now good and fun to putt. We took his advise and did play this year and had a great time and will most likely return next year. The 13th green was very rough, but the othersa were in very good shape. I would again recommend that you play at The Oaks.
The Oaks is a good golf course, well maintained, and quite a value. The club house is good looking and the staff very professional and friendly. I played there in August 2009 and again in October 2009. Even during the hot season, the fairways were green and well-watered. The greens were mostly in good shape, although a couple of holes needed attention. In October, the greens were in better shape. They have a good driving range as well. The Oaks is a moderately long course and has a number of challenges. A couple of very nice things about the Oaks: The greens fees are not bad, especially if you play a twilight game. If you play there a few times, then it's worth it to pay $99 for the "Oaks Card" which gives a significant discount. The card pays for itself in three rounds.
