quiet, serene, lovely trails. Simply beautiful in the autumn but I love to visit any time of the year. Lamentation Mountain is very nice, but the hike along the ridge is gorgeous! Not an easy trail to do the ridge but there are plenty of less intensity. So worth the climb if you can do it.
This is a great place to bring your dog for a walk. The trails circle the reservoir and there are more challenging trails that lead to the top of a hill where you will have a spectacular view. All of this in Meriden!
Heard there was a drowning and they never found the body - We never swim now or focus on the water. Nobody wants to find that
Lots of hiking trails. There are easy trails and then some climbing trails. Not a large park. There is an open field but mostly wood area for hiking.
Guiffrida Park has some nice trails...some along the water. Sometimes it is a bit crowded for my taste.
Maybe the best short and accessible hiking in Connecticut. Easy stroll along the pond, or an excellent loop including moderate climbing, ridge walking & great long distance views. Off-trail opportunities for a touch of wilderness!
The hike to Chauncey Peak, located within the park, is just challenging enough to not be impossible, but make it worth putting on your hiking boots. The first half mile is a bit tough, but it is only a half mile and you are are rewarded with sweeping vistas of Southern Connecticut, including Sleeping Giant & New Haven on a clear day. The remain 1.5 miles is a great hike through the woods, with more beautiful views of Crescent Lake. It finishes with a lovely stroll along the sides of the lake, complete with benches to take it all in. If you aren't inclined to climb the peak, the stroll along the lake is a pleasure in and of itself. A great afternoon out.
