Local, convenient, excellent quality. Accessible with assisted devices for those who need them. The convenience makes the experience better than Broadway.

I've been enjoying this playhouse for the last 10 years. The setting is so intimate and inviting, you'll want to come back over and over. I've seen Holiday specials, Broadway shows, special events as well. Reasonable prices and season passes are worth the investment. Mrs. Joanne Woodward still sits on the board of this magnificent venue. You will not be disappointed! The walls are adorned with playbills of past performances and the stars who made this playhouse what it is today.

Even though this is close to NYC WCP brings amazing professional theatre to Connecticut! There is not a bad seat in the theatre and the seats are pretty comfortable. Staff is always helpful and nice!

Went to Westport Country Playhouse last night for the staged reading of Mousetrap by Agatha Christie. It was wonderful, great actors, comfy seats, friendly staff, and refreshments at intermission. I'm sure we will return.

We have been season ticket holders for the last four years and have re-upped for 2015. The variety, the quality the atmosphere and the professionalism all add up to a wonderful time.

This is part of a program where they have the reading of the play without supporting actors and actresses or scenery. This was a very articulate very sophisticated and very enjoyable performance last evening.

We live in Westport and on the surface, really like the idea of having this playhouse in town. Unfortunately, the types of plays that my husband and I enjoy don't really align well with the plays chosen by the playhouse's artistic director. I hate to even admit this, but we have walked out on more than one play. Too bad because it is really a great space - just wish they would pick more main stream shows.

Very nice theatre with a great view of the stage from everywhere. I was in the next to the last row (Q) Orchestra and could see the stage very well. Nice temperature in the theatre so I was comfortable. Sound level great & nice snacks well priced during intermission. Free parking & easy parking on the premises.

Above average theater for outside of NYC/Broadway. We highly recommend attending a play here any time of year.

Westport Country Playhouse is excellent - and the renovated theater is spacious and lovely. There are many excellent restaurants in town for pre-theater dining.

Westport Playhouse has been around for almost as long as I have been and still continues to thrill locals. I saw "Things we do for love" over the weekend at the theater and it was outstanding. The theater is a small venue, cosy, easily accessible for challenged persons. It is recommended that if one wants a libation during the intermission, definitely order in advance. If the production such as "The things we do for love" which had a 3 level stage, do not sit on the far right orchestra as the balcony will impede your over head stage right.Matinee shows do offer a senior discount. The theater is rustic and very charming with lovely gardens and grounds.

We went to a Sunday matinee here, and it was wonderful. I'm speaking about more than the play, which was very good as well. The venue is fairly small, but comfortable. On the driveway in, I noticed the wonderful landscaping, and then the parking attendants, who were highly efficient, directed us to a space. The "will-call" windows were crowded, but it really didn't take that long to claim the tickets. What I enjoyed most, were the posters from all past performances, which included all of the greats of the theatre, a few of whom I had seen over the years. There is not a lot of pretense, and the seats were comfortable--unusual for a theatre. The tickets were not prohibitive, the way they can be on Broadway (although the production we saw was small and not a musical, so I can't say how high the prices would be for a larger production). I highly recommend buying a subscription, so that you can partake of this treat all-year 'round.

While every production is not a home run, there are enough base hits to make the Westport Country Playhouse worth attending and supporting. The Actors have performed on Broadway, on television and in regional theater, the sets are outstanding and the shows are professionally directed. The playhouse is comfortable and charming. The script in hand readings are a treat and not to be missed. This is not a review of any particular show but rather a review of the Playhouse itself. I am very very pleased that it is near by.
