Ditto to all the praises given. Well deserved. I would only add a note of thanks for the investment the Lyric has made in a great surround sound audio system and digital projection system. First class movie viewing experience. This is what a community based movie theatre is all about.

We sat in the balcony to see a Shakespeare comedy. We had a great time. Even in the balcony we felt close enough to the stage to feel the action.

Not a bad seat in the house. Great value for the movie and at the concession counter. Sit in the balcony if it's your first visit.

Great popcorn and comfortable seats in a great town. Many great restaurants nearby to make an evening of it.

The Lyric has once again become a gem in the community. Whether attending a movie or live music or something else, the old style theater with refurbished seats and balcony cannot be beat.The offerings are varied and excellent. If you're visiting Blacksburg, this is one place to be sure to visit.

Cheaper then the bigger venues, the Lyric shows big screen movies and independent films along with hosting plays and musical venues like the Indigo Girls. I always enjoy any event at the Lyric. Being in the center of down town with many restaurants, it is a great date night.

My son has been at Virginia Tech four plus years and I have always wanted to go to the lyric as we walk by it all the time. Prior to our visit concerts were quickly sold out, so on this particular night my son and I got to stop in and watch a movie. Very quaint space and an old throwback to the 50's small bags of popcorn . Great place for an evening out with family, couples and would be a nice place for a first date.

It's a fairly quaint theater that shows some slightly older movies, but free popcorn on Mondays! And, it's only ~$5-7, which is awesome compared to most other theaters. The seating's not bad and it's usually a good time for everyone.

We enjoyed "The Sting" here recently and loved this theatre! Concessions were great as well. Will definitely come back.

The theatre has been around for many years but was updated in 1999. Singers, ie. Rita Coolidge, and movies of late as well as unique, ie. Tim's Vermeer. play in the historic venue.

love this beautiful little theater. tickets and food are much less than any other theater around.This is the only theater I will go to.

Every seat in the Lyric is a good seat. Acoustics are great. I always love to sit in the balcony. Prices are always less than the big box theaters and much more of a small town atmosphere.

Saw a movie there for the first time....the restored theatre, knowing that movie ticket prices and concessions went for continued renovation, the whole environment was a joy. Wish I was closer to see many of the upcoming movies and an eclectic mix of musical artists....

A lovingly restored theater that recalls they glory days of moving pictures, the Lyric is one of Blacksburg's finest amenities. We have especially enjoyed their live music presentations, and we appreciate their bringing wide variety of films to town. Their prices are better than those at the mall and their popcorn is the best around. What else could one want?

popcorn is the best around. usually not crowded. do not play nasty music before the show. very few previews. a more mature crowd usually.
