haymarket iceplex

Leesburg resident here. Not too far from home and the atmosphere is small town and simple. Because Ashburn Ice House is in the middle of hockey suburbia, the place is always overpacked with rough ice. Not at Haymarket. Easy, down to earth staff and nice ice. Public skates are scheduled to fit around normal working parent hours and the Stick And Shoots aren't packed so you're actually able to get some slap shots off without hitting another skater. This iceplex is a great addition to the Haymarket area.

This ice rink is still under construction. That being said, it's a good news story that this rink was built originally (by parent volunteers) as a temporary site/location last year for the Dale City Rink which was damaged during a heavy snow storm. Their rink is fixed now. But if you build it - they will come! The rink is now under construction to be a permanent facility here in the area. House and travel hockey has kicked off as well as figure skating. They have a learn to skate program (for all ages- in case it's on your bucket list). Open skate sessions with skate rental as well. This place will get a 5star rating in the future- I'm sure- because once the facility is complete it's going to be so nice! Excited to see this ice rink move along!
