Very nice banquet with unbeatable views of nature and the valley. Awesome in the snow this year. Staff very supportive of outdoor activities, prompt response to room needs.
Beautiful setting in need of a face lift! Food was average. Visited on a college football Saturday and bar did not open until 2:00 pm! Could not watch any games or enjoy a cocktail until after 2:00!
There is a good restaurant here and you can stop and enjoy the views. The lodge is fabulous, if you can get a room there!
A no frills rustic cabin-like feel. A patio with view to relax on. A peaceful wooded mountain setting. Just what I expected and what I got. I would stay at Skyland again. A bit pricey as with all National Park lodging but you are paying for location not luxury.
A super place to stretch your legs while on Skyline Drive. You can shop at the gift shop, grab a beer in the tap room, dine in the main room, or snag a quick coffee at the walk up café.The weekends can be quite packed, so if possible visit mid week to encounter smaller crowds.
On our family's recent visit to Shenandoah National Park we stopped at Skyland for lunch. The sit down restaurant opened at noon and the line of patrons was thirty deep by 11:45. As there are few restaurants in the park, be prepared for await if you arrive at 12:30. The menu is very limited with few healthy or gluten free choices. There was a buffet of cold cuts and soup. Service was quick and the entrees ok. Our son had a bacon cheese burger with soggy fries that cost $12.00 plus. My baked chicken was tasty with a thimbleful of coleslaw and soggy fries. There is a snack bar in the lobby of Skyland Lodge with beverages, sandwiches and light snacks that might be a better option.
Stopped do go hiking .a good trail for average hikers. Did not see much more cause of fog.the accommodations looked nice we will have to stay there sometime.there is horseback riding also definitely on the to do list.
The gift shop at Skyland has varied items for sale. It is well worth stopping by even if you are not staying at the Skyland Resort.
A jewel in the mountain! Gorgeous cabins, extremely helpful and friendly staff, and the views and hikes around Skyland are breathtaking
It's a very nice place to relax and enjoy the fantastic views of the surrounding area from the mountain top. Newly renovated rooms are very comfortable, but the restaurant is nothing to brag about. staff works hard to compensate.
JUst the two of us and no one bothered us. Went to apple butter festival just below us. Went for walks, very romantic.
Our family stayed at the skyland resort to go hiking and enjoy the apple butter festival. Great overall time.
Friendly staff, excellent customer service, and the food is enjoyable. The rooms were clean and comfortable in a tranquil setting of with breathtaking mountain views, starry skies, and dense peaceful forest. A true retreat to unplug and recharge your inner batteries.
The wait staff were great and the food arrived quickly. Food was also good. Nearby gift shop was a welcome surprise.
Basic service and food menu , but good and price is reasonable. Does not really have a good panoramic view of the valley due to obstructing trees but has a walking trail below.
