Great park with nice trails & plenty of shaded seating and picnic areas. It's in a good location too. No playground, but makes a nice walk for families.
Awesome park. Lots of room for kids to play and see wildlife. Perfect place to get some exercise. Not great for bicycles because they are not allowed off the paved areas and most of the park isn't paved.
Mansfield has some great parks, but this new nature park is the crown jewel! In the front section there are several natural wood tables for picnicking and a concrete walking path. There is a small pond and some ducks have finally taken up residence there. We haven't seen any fish, but it wouldn't surprise me if they stock it later. In the meantime, look for frogs and the like!If you follow the concrete path, you might be tempted to cross the bridge, but it really only extends to a further path near a neighborhood. Skip it and take the dirt path around the back of the pond. It leads to the best of the park!Up a short hill is the Treehouse Overlook. (It's really just a deck in the trees on a hillside overlooking a creek, but it's a great place to stop and look at the view.) If you walk on around the loop of the path, you will see an old windmill, a wooden deck path, more ponds, and a wildflower area for AWESOME bluebonnet pics right before Easter. On your way back to the front, take the shaded tree path; you won't regret it!! This place is gorgeous and they are continually adding new features. There is a naturalist on staff. You can look at the Mansfield Activities Center (MAC) website for scheduled events. Many are free. Bathrooms up front were clean. There were another set of bathrooms in the back section, but I have not been inside them. This is a great place to enjoy the outdoors and feel connected with nature! We LOVE this park! As soon as they put in a kid's playground set, it will lack for nothing.
This park just opened and it is awesome. They have many paved and unpaved trails with a ton to see and do. There is a "treehouse" that overlooks the property, although its more of a typical park shelter than treehouse. There is a wildflower area with Bluebonnets blooming that is just beautiful. The park allows dogs and has waste stations at intervals around the trails with handy pick up and disposal! Nice touch! they really went all out on this park with over 80 acres of natures beauty.
